I have another driveway to clean out at the mouth (where the township plow deposits the snow). The guy has been driving on it all winter so far.
If it's like the one I did last winter it was go slow job.

28 here with a small snow squall going thru. Should be about the same forecast as Thomas and Shetland. I'm really not that far from both. Different altitude though.
Both of us are doing as expected with no change on her voice. We finally have an appt. with an ENT but not till March 1! Hopefully we can get in earlier if someone else cancels!

Think it will be a good day to putter in the shop again.

Wife and I were discussing this morning that it couldn't be Saturday all ready! Feels like Monday was just yesterday!
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy.

Good Morning!!!! 52F @ 4:30AM. Rain and wind this morning with thunderstorms developing for the afternoon. High 58F. Winds SSE at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of rain 100%. Rainfall near an inch. Locally heavy rainfall possible.
Picked up another 3/4" of rain yesterday after it started again mid morning. It's been raining on and off since then, with blustery wind gusts.

I did get almost everything off the back porch yesterday, but ended up a little short. Rolled a front tire off the tractor just before it started raining. Dragged it backwards up to the garage and had to use the big Ingersol/Rand impact gun I got from Kyle to break loose the lug nuts. Half the bead was over the steering knuckle, so had to slip a tire iron in there to get it free. That's as far as I got because the valve stem disappeared somewhere along the way. Thinking back, that's probably what caused the flat. A neighbor was supposed to pick up a new valve stem on his way home from work yesterday, so I'll go see him today and at least get the tire inflated. No need to get it back onto the tractor until it stops raining.

After I got the bead blaster moved to the front porch I tried to start the electric motor on the air recirculator, and all I got was a buzz. Yesterday I removed a cap on the end of the motor and it started right up. The cap was fairly beat up, but a few minutes with a body hammer on a leather sandbag got it back into shape. The little metal terminal box on the side of the motor also took it in the shorts, so I pulled it off and straightened it out, too. By the time I got it all put back together I couldn't feel my fingers any longer, so that was it for outdoor adventures. It was blowing pretty good and raining hard, too.

Came inside and soaked my hands in hot water for a while, had some lunch, and treated myself to a nap. Woke up when a text message came in from a friend with a link to a property in Santa Maria, CA, not too far from Lompoc. The listing had a virtual tour where you could click your way around the house that worked really well. Pretty amazing, actually. The place had a huge bouns room with a concrete floor and big glass sliding doors between it and the dining room and garage. It would make a pretty nice shop. Got me thinking about moving back into a neighborhood, but living cheek to jowl to another house makes me sick just thinking about it. Then again, it would be nice to be able to walk to the grocery store and restaurants...
\When I REALLY want to know the day of the week, I move my cursor to the upper right hand corner of my brouser and hover there. the time and date and day of the week all come up.
I have one of those compartmentalized pill dispensers with S M T W T F S on the compartment lids. Now all I have to do is remember what all those letters stand for.🤣

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend.

(The Buckeye Banner)
Saturday, Jan. 14th, 2023

Good morning! 28˚F. Oops did not cover citrus. Hope my lemon tree can take the light freeze. With southerly winds is was not suppose to get this cold. The clouds will clear out this morning with sunny skies, temps will rise to mid 60s by this afternoon.

Now that I got the tiller working I want to clear out the garden and till it, but it's too early. I'll have to buy some red potatoes and alfalfa hay next week in Giddings and aim for planting in 5 weeks. I still need to add more nitrogen to the garden. The manure is supplied and has a lot of rocks and hay in it so I sift it through the 1/2" rabbit wire sifter and add the provided compost to it.

Ron I like the day date addition to your post along with the weather. I guess it will be called "The Buckeye Banner".

Morning a brisk 22F out this morning after a high yesterday of 46 with a forecast high of 26F today.
Going to be a cool afternoon for me, my nephew is going to be doing some logging in one of the wood lots and it's my turn to observe and play safety man and runner for anything needed. Be taking the UTV over and mostly just sitting, hope I don't have to chain her up.

Good morning to all TBN'ers and their families,
Presently it is 36F under cloudy skies with winds gusting to 20mph, high temp at midnight was 41 and it has been dropping since. Forecast high of 37 today with winds increasing to the 20-30 mph range.

Liz didn't leave for NC until 2 so I got a late start to my day.

Did a dump run, topped off the fuel tank in the truck and went to the hardware store to pick up a plastic wedge for felling the tree. They are still out of stock and have been for almost 2 weeks.

Last time I used my Stihl chainsaw it was running a bit rich and wasn't happy idling. Looked into that issue and found the air cleaner dirty, hope that is all it was. Will find out later today.

Dropped the tree and started to clean it up, will finish today.

Need to make a run to the grocery store, TSC to get dog food and bar oil for the chainsaws.

Didn't sleep well at all last night. Short story.. long. I inherited a solar system when my BIL passed away. Solar panels, charge controller, huge batteries, inverter and all the wiring needed. The inverter is a stand alone unit, not grid tied. Haven't been able to figure out what to do with the system to best utilize it. I read Ktm Rider's thread My Micro Hydro Project and he mentioned upgrading to a hybrid inverter. Hmmm Hybrid inverter??? I researched hybrid inverters, they are grid tied and could be used as a battery backup system. Perfect for what I want to do. My house and my shop are on separate meter systems, so I spent most of the night designing systems for both the house and the shop. I see an afternoon nappy in my future.

Christmas lights still on the boat, I guess it is a bit of a low priority.

Oh, I received my monthly SS check on Wednesday, it was $100 LESS than before. It seems that with the COLA adjustment it raised my SS income above a threshold that caused my Medicare deduction to go up about $400 so now I take home less than before the adjustment!!???

Have a good day everyone, be safe out there.
