Good morning!!!!

Good morning, 18 today and feeling warmer.
Garage never got below 46 even though it was 11 last night, so insulation seems to be helping.
Will need to get a 240 line run in there for a real heater.

Got in at 1am from friends house, was a good party, we will be going back there for new years. Their PotBelly pigs were not impressed and stayed sleeping in the corner all night.

BIL and wife here tomorrow, presents all opened.

Happy birthday Fuddy!

Tonight is beef bulgogi and kimchi from the local h-mart.

Son went over to drop off a present for his girlfriend, oh to be so young again :)

Tomorrow Crab cakes.

This morning started off with blueberry pancakes, really good blueberries for this time of year.

think it's time to nap, very worn out, finger is healing, wife is doing well on antibiotics.

Be well and Merry Christmas all.

Ken, my insulated garage got to low 40s I think, not bad since it’s on the windy side.

Lunch over, now time for boys to open presents.

Santa didn’t get his cookies and milk last night though.

I've fallen behind again.....will have to catch up later.

I just wanted to wish all of you Merry Christmas. Only 3 of us went to church this morning, youngest is sick. HEB store had large end rib roasts for $3.99/lb. I bought 2, 4 pounders. I just pulled them out of the oven and they are resting. mashed potatoes, asparagus, (and my son wanted steak fries instead of potatoes).

Don, I can't even begin to imagine losing a kid like that. Prayers for the familiy.

Prayers for our team.

Frits, I remember when the South Texas Nuclear plant was started by Brown and Root, but they had not had previous experience with nuclear plant builds. I believe it was Bechtel that ended up finishing the plans. IIRC it cost them over double to finish it because of B&R.
This is my former company wishing merry Christmas. Some of you may find it interesting what they get involved with. They are actively trying to get me out of retirement but no chance!

Bechtel colleagues and alumni,
Bechtel continued to make news and to contribute to the communities we serve in the final months of 2022. Following are highlights of some important milestones and megaproject wins you may have missed since the last edition of Alumni Update.

Kyle, Yes you are right on that. It was during my time with the Bechtel Houston office although I did not work on that one. I had 3 assignments on Nuclear plants but they all got cancelled like Blue Hills Nuclear station for Gulf States Utilities in Beaumont, Texas. Also one for Mendocino CA, PG&E because it turned out to be on a fault line and one in Taiwan. Actually the one in Taiwan went forward and was completed

Just got in from the barn loading feed bins and throwing some hay bales down from the loft. Put away the tools from yesterday’s adventures and smacked my hand on a shelf throwing extension cords on it.
I have no real complaints about my physical condition or aging, but I sure wish that my hands were as tough as they once were. When I look at them after almost any project, it seems like I managed to draw blood. Looking at them now, they look like the hands of an old man, but they still get a lot done!

Merry Christams!!!!

Had a nice breakfast at my son's house. My wife and I loaded the car last night.

Then, this morning, I prepped some sausage biscuits to take over and throw in the oven. Those were a huge hit. Take some grands juniors split them in half. Then add a sausage, cream cheese, and cheddar cheese mixture. Then, top with the other half of the biscuit. Then bake.

They turned out fantastic and will soon become a new tradition for us.

Little man made out like a bandit as usual. And was great to spend time with all the kids.

Here's me and little man hard at work assembling his dirt works kit he got

Pop, I have noticed the same with my hands. Bruise easily. When I worked as mechanic my hands were tough from the physical work and could stand a lot of abuse. But now I have to be careful

I'm a mechanic as well. The older I get, the thinner my skin gets. Heck, half the time, I don't realize I've cut myself till I feel the wet running.
