Electric vehicles during a disaster

I do have a hybrid. I've owned 3 different ones since 2006. My oldest still drives the 2nd one (2013). The current edition is a 2020 Prius Prime. It goes 30 miles or so on a charge. I work 8 miles from home, so the daily commute uses about half a charge. I plug it in every other day. However, if my daughter in Lubbock needs me, I can drive the 300+ miles on gas and get her with almost half a tank to spare. If I had most EVs, I couldn't get there without a stop. I haven't checked, but given the roads from Ft. Worth to Lubbock, I doubt there are many super chargers along the way. Not practical to start building them either.
Apple Maps says the fastest route between Lubbock and Ft. Worth is I-20. There are (3) Tesla Superchargers on I-20. Sweetwater has 8 charging bays, Clyde has (20) of the latest 250kW Supercharger bays. Cisco has (8).

You would spend less than 10 minutes charging a Tesla Model 3 LR to get there.

I'm no engineer, but my son is. I don't think you are supposed to charge your EV until it is closer to empty. My understanding is that the battery will degrade if you do it like that. Of course, if you do it that way and then there is an emergency, you could get stuck.
I keep saying "Gas Station Model Does Not Apply To EVs" and you provide yet another example by trying to treat an EV like an ICE where you don't buy gasoline until the tank is under 1/4.

Teslas love to be charged any time. I normally set my charge limit to 200 miles. Plug in every time I park at home. Often starts charging with 180 miles to only add 20. Battery is now 9 years old. My Tesla was built on December 8, 2013.

Charged it to 230 miles early hours Saturday morning then drove 155 miles. Reset the charge limit to 200 after.

Again, I ask, where are you going to charge it if you live in an apartment complex with 1000 cars in the lots?

Heard the tail end of something like "Ford is recommending not using the heater in their new ev truck to save battery power"....

Glad I don't have to worry about getting stuck in a snow ditch down here.
Yes and don't play the radio, run wipers, blow the horn or use any of the other 200 "modern inconveniences"

I very rarely let my fuel tank get below 1/2. Even when I was travelling 500 miles to work I made it a point to gas at midpoint; mainly to support the state I was travelling through. As I get older though it doesn't make sense not to. Half a tank is about 200 miles, by then I'm ready to get out and stretch my legs anyways.

I20 is not the fastest way for me. I am.closer to TMS.

As for charging, Tesla may suggest one thing, but science says another. I fill my gas tank when I go to Sams, regardless of the status. Never go below a 1/4, just in case.
