Good morning to all! Low of 31°, only going up to 45°. Breezes expected.
The winds never got terribly bad yesterday, gusts were minimal at around 35mph.
No precip occurred when the front came across, some snow up north about an hour away. The nighttime temps will be in the low 20's for the next week, day temps in the 40's.

After getting back from town, I remembered that the fiber installers had to cut one of the supply lines for the drip system. Got that repaired and gave the zone a good drink.
Then got some seat time regrading the the trencher marks. It wasn't too bad, they used one of the vibratory cable trenchers. Now that the fiber is in, I can order the gravel for the drive. I was waiting until they were done, so no dirt was mixed with the new gravel.

Ron, beautiful pic of the Cardinal.

RNG, back already to the Salton Sea..... have a great trip, be safe.

Drew, you reminded me that I need to disconnect the old router / equipment at the desk area, get it returned to the provider. Then organize the new equipment (which is just sitting on top of the desk).

Paul, those briskets look tasty already! How many pounds of charcoal do you use? .... I'm surprised it lasts that long!

Ken, hope the caulking/ sealing works.... roof leaks are hard to find.... and can cause a bunch of hidden damage. Not fun.....

I need to fix the latch on our backyard gate..... heard this "banging" noise yesterday.... the wind was beating the gate open/closed. Apparently the latch will no longer catch..... Hopefully an easy fix...
Not sure what else I will get into.....

Everyone have a great day!

About 8lbs of charcoal plus chunks of hardwood, usually oak or fruitwood.
I used lump charcoal for a long time, but have been using Kingsford Hardwood Briquettes, as they have good smoke, and are extremely consistent. Not a lot of places have them, but HD usually does.

63°F and .21 inches rain

Nothing major planned this morning. Might start replacing the door lock set as they are starting to fail. Seems the cheap metal inside fails, guessing it’s related to environment. Got a box of 10 matched sets from Amazon. Each set came with 6 keys, giving me 60. Sure hope I don’t loose one.

Hand & Foot at friends this afternoon.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Good morning. 59 going to 65 nice and sunny no wind

Tree planting is done. Planted 5 Leeland Cypress and 5 Green Giants.

Watering each tree for a hour with a small stream from the hose. Will repeat that every three days for the first week or so and then trap it down.

I have been using apple wood and oak wood for smoking but it s harder to control temperature. I think I will try the Hardwood Briquettes next time. and then feed smaller amounts of wood.

Also pulled a line for the property line behind the newly planted trees and then will set flags for fence pole positions. I have a bunch of 6 inch treated fence poles to go in there.

Discovered the neighbor had piled up tree stumps and logs overlapping to our side. So will use the front end loader and push it back.

Ron, love your pictures. What camera and lens do you use? My iPhone will not do that.

64F and sunny @ 11:30, heading up to a high of 71F for the day. This one might be the last 70F degree day for year unless something unusual happens.

Got hopper feeder refilled first thing yesterday, also two suet feeders.

Removed PHD and auger from Kubota and got those put back on their respective stands.

Put quick hitch and box blade back on, also swapped out bucket for pallet forks.

Added two cups of Espoma Soil Acidifier to each of the two holes for the hydrangeas and worked that into the screened compost.

Unloaded foam board insulation and a box of stuff from the Menards order and took it over to the pole barn. Still have to do all the 2 x 4's.

Moved a couple of pallets outside, also juggled a number of pallets inside, moving them to the north end.

Added more clay behind the 2 x 8 x 14 across the center overhead.

Pressured washed the outside of the south overhead door.

Trimmed out another sheet of OSB and got that put up.

Got that sheet and the one right next to it all screwed in.

Sorted out new/used hidden hangers and got each put in its own box.

Rebaited live traps. Something is taking the bait but not tripping the traps, Woman thinks it might be mice or chipmunks.

Placed Amazon order last night for valves/fittings to blow out water line for winter. Those should get here by tomorrow which will allow me to get the line blown out before freezing low temps arrive on Saturday.

Agenda for today:

Get 2 x 4's unloaded out of the van and moved over to the barn, also unload sunflower and safflower seeds and get those put in the garage.

The expected rainfall from TS Nicole could be as much as 2" so move the rest of clay pile outside into the barn before it gets totally soaked.

Trim another sheet of OSB and get it put up.

Move stuff I don't want to get wet back inside barn.

Plus whatever else comes up.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe Thursday ... (y)
