Good Morning
It’s 34 with a high over 60 today.
Yesterday started with breakfast with the professor where the election results figured prominently in the conversation. Next was to trade my Prius for my son‘s Mercedes at the inspection station.
Wife and I took the Benz to Costco and did our shopping, when I went to load the trunk with our plunder, I was surprised to find there was already two sets of golf clubs and a batch of other stuff already in there. However our grocery’s all fit, including a 35 pack of Diet Coke, a case of Snapple in case Drew comes by, almost 40lbs of brisket, and a batch of other stuff.
Later in the day, my wife took me to pick up the Prius. She reminded me that when she once said that she would like a Mercedes, I told her they were too expensive to maintain.
Both my son’s car and my own got the same service, brakes, oil change and state inspection. His bill was over $1000, mine was $300. My wife is happy with her Toyota.
Took a look at the Carryall, I’m not sure that it is charging. I got as far as verifying the wiring and determining if it is a A or B circuit system so I can troubleshoot it today.
Got the smoker ready and brisket trimmed and rubbed, so I could light the fire and load it up after the Airport Authority meeting, which I attended via zoom. It was after 9pm when I lit the fire, should be fine, I’m supposed to be serving it around 6pm today.
It amazes me how well the smoker keeps it’s set temperature by adjusting the draft fan. It typically only wanders a few degrees from the set point, and can usually make through an 18 hour cook without reloading the fire box.
Today I’ll revisit the Carryall, keep an eye on the smoker, probably push the manure back into the bin and stack it up to make some more room. I’ve got some inside chores and computer work to do, and get to go feed the firemen at 6.
