1950 Farmall C rigged for winter with a blue tarp wrapped under the belly to hopefully direct some heat towards the seat. This would be about 1999, kept her until I got the Kioti.

I got the Makita chainsaw and pole saw that use 2 18v batteries. And couldn’t be happier. My MS260 doesn’t get much use any more.

I'm pretty happy with the same Makita chainsaw and pole saw as Paul. My gas Stihls see very little use now.

I have had problems with premature wear of the spur sprocket on the Makita chainsaw, though. The drive links on the chain dig into the sprocket, and once that happens, chain tension varies enough to let the chain jump off the bar. I can flip the sprocket and get a little more use out of it, but the grooves return and it's time to replace it. They're only about five bux apiece, so it's not too big a deal. But Makita was out of stock of them in the US for a while, so I've taken to keeping several spares on hand.

Battery wise, I feel your pain. But a friend of mine says you can now get adaptors that will let you use Brand X batteries on your Brand Y tool, as long as the battery voltages are the same.

Morning all, 46 going up to 61.
Bonfire last night was fun, about 100 people or so from the neighborhood.

Had a band and stage, big BBQ/catered setup, kegs, and fire of course.
Met some new neighbors and some old ones.
House was built in the 1700's and is now up to 6000sq ft. with adjoining uncles house which was even larger on shared 27 acres. Amazing setup.

Got microwave installed, lots of measuring and drilling, and in the end it went in right the first time.

Drew - sorry to hear about your friend, lost many friends and relatives to cancer and my dad's high school friend and Aunt are both fighting cancer now and seem to be doing ok for the short term.
All are in their 80's now but enjoying the days they have.

Wngsprd - looks like a lot of fun, love those type of festivals with mixed music and some new to me types.

Today is lawn aerating and cutting. Found a 30 foot long maple branch in the lower field, so will need to cut that up.

Had 3 young bucks testing one another than much larger buck show to see what the noise was all about,Jr.s put their heads down pretend nothing was going on.

My 1st was my Kioti CK30H, bought new 2005. Great learning experience and it was a hard worker. Couldn’t have built this house or get the property to current state without it.

I wonder if the TBN pluckers have to agree on a group decision or they have personal plucking power?
I know I've gone over the line with too much thought/enthusiasm perhaps but I've never been warned since being on this site.
But I know I've screwed up. Maybe I got deleted and never knew it, happily oblivious.

I know some of my posts have been pulled...doesn't bother me a bit since they were political...at least somewhat...

Well, chipper is put away for the season. I did a little chipping on the pile of branches that came down with the tree that fell about a month back. All the leaves are gone, which made the job easier.
The Woodmaxx 8H has been a great chipper. I'm on my 3rd or 4th season with it. One thing that's always been a real PITA is removing it from the quick hitch. The lower attachments always bind up and I need to use a small sledge to knock them out. The problem is the brackets on the chipper bind up with the QH lower hooks. Every year I say I'm going to grind the QH hooks to allow more clearance and every year I forget all about it after winter. Not this year...I'll have to borrow an angle grinder and do the job. It took me well over an hour to get the damn chipper disconnected. One thing that doesn't help is the chipper's lower brackets aren't really QH compatible

By the time I got done, I was too beat to mess with the snow blower...

After the work, I sat on the back deck...wind came up, leaves were blowing (really pretty to watch) and I think we're in for a change in the weather. Cool to watch though...went from fairly sunny to overcast in about 10 minutes.
All I needed was a beer to make it perfect, but I had to settle for a cup of coffee

Funny I have the MS 260 and the 026 as well. Makita makes good products. iI only I did not have to add another battery system. What model Makitas did you get?

Actually my new Stihl is an MS261CM with an 18”bar. I also have the 16” bar and chains from my O26 that fit it.

The Makita pole saw is a XAU02PTB
The Makita chainsaw is a XCU04PT1
Pretty sure I only have the 14” bar on the Makita chainsaw.
