Made a little Acetel clamshell with springs, guide pins, & limiters to keep it from coming apart and a little aluminum level to close on a hydro fitting and let the pressure out so I can put the fittings together easier.
Yah I know a hunk of alum or brass would do the same thing but I just had to gild the lily

Interesting concept to to relieve pressure.
What was your target coupling? Ag or flat face? Does it work on both the male and female sides?
I employ a short 3/8 extension and a 1 Lb hammer on my flat face skid steer style couplers. Quick bump about once every 20 times I have to put couplings together.

Ag I have to fight with the couplings on my 3rd function for the grapple.

I was under impression the reason ag couplers had nipple in the middle of the coupler face was to relieve some of the system pressure, as couplers were being engaged, so the coupler was more easily engaged. That's how it works on the 3 ag couplers I added for top n tilt on my M59. Every time I engage them, I get a few drops/ little dribble during engagement and they slip easily together. My ag coupler style is Parker 8010-4P.
