Good day except for 1 boo boo, Couple good hours of trimming felt good Felt good finally getting behind steering wheel for slow roll for critter food We got to hospital in plenty time check in,waited was 30 mins. I ask receptionist she said mu appointment was tomorrow show her appointment card for today she made call said "they were sorry and all book up" hmmm I'll give them little sense of dry humor tomorrow.

Not much plan for evening...dinner,setting on the deck with the kittens.

Was 91F in Columbus Ohio @ 18:00, HI 115F … and over 160,000 without power in Central Ohio from last night’s storms.

Thankfully lots of folks have basements up here, which at least offers some respite from the heat.

The engine is the easiest to start of all the ones that I have. I was worried for a start as new out of the box there was virtually no compression. A bit of 3 in 1 oil down the spark plug hole solved that. I have an electric starter which I used first up but after a run it is not necessary any more.
Yes Pop, it is gasoline and very frugal to run compared to nitro.
Looking forward to Saturday for the maiden. Weather looks like it will be ideal. 22 deg C and mostly sunny. No wind lately.

Does it run on regular pump gas? And how does the ignition work? A crank sensor to an external powered module? Sounds very cool.

The ride back from Richmond worked out well, we avoided all the weather and had a smooth ride.
When I got home home, I saw that UPS had left me an 80lb trinket.
A 9” auger with rock teeth to go through the shale that we have everywhere.

It it works as well as it’s 6” sibling, I will be very happy.

I need an auger like that on my phdigger. I often hit sandstone. Getting too old to fit the phd on my tractor now. Just too heavy but I need to put some new posts in for my entrance gate as I am fitting a solar gate opener. I think I will have to pay someone instead.

Pop, yes exactly that. Crank sensor magnet built into prop hub and it runs on 91 but not ethanol. 20/1 gas oil mix. A little electronic module is in the cowling. Here is a pic of a module and you can see the magnet in the hub and the pick-up sensor. Also the spark plug. Timing can be adjusted but I have never had to do that yet.

That’s exactly why I sold my 3PT auger and bought the hydraulic one that goes on the loader and uses 3rd function hydraulics. As a bonus, you get down pressure and reverse (without a big pipe wrench).

I have always been amazed at how small the plugs are.

Good early arvo. It's calm and overcast, which did indeed lead to a 'mild' night with a low of 4.6C! It's presently 12C with the odd drop of moisture.

Town run has been done. Just doing a towel "dhobi". (Navy slang, Hindi word, for washing )
