Filled up the gas pickup yesterday $4.899 per gallon;
hi test non ethanol was $5.729
Diesel was $6.599

Went in with my brother and we locked in several thousand gallons of #2 at $4.04 per gallon delivered,
no idea if that was the best bet or not we shall find out this fall.

Gas dropped a bit today May-27-22 i Nova Scotia, diesel went up
Gas CAN$2.034L which is US$ 5.97 a US gallon, diesel is CAN$1.95L which is US$5.74 a US gallon. Funny how it goes up in 10 and 20 cent increments but it drops (rarely) in one and two cent bits.........Mike

I for one noticed much lower prices of fuel and many other products in the last administration. You didnt notice diesel was like $2.20/gallon in 2020? I sure as heck did.

Then 1.5 years ago prices started creeping upward and are now on their way to $5/gallon.
Now we are more than double

Supply demand my a____ :ROFLMAO:

The direction of this thread makes me think about situations and reasons - or maybe better "motives for decisions." Fuel prices are very high and still rising. Yet we here in the US have resources we are no longer using (pipelines and drilling on gov land (our lands). The supply chain issues (the LA shipping container mess) has not changed. Empty shelves - supposed to get even worse. Food prices rising and we are told that we are lucky because there may be no food on the shelves.

All this being said -----I was raised being taught that government collected revenue (taxes) to provide for the common good on its citizens. That government the purpose of gov was not to provide income if a person CHOOSES not to work.

If I look at motives. If I wanted everyone to look favorable toward ev, then this IS the way to do it. Many years ago, a department of US energy Sec made the statement - I want gas prices to be the same as in the EU. $9 a gallon. Well, we seem to be headed there. These issues - open boarders, fuel prices, supply chain messes are issues that fit right in the government bucket. They are broad issues that effect everyone.

It is true that elections have consequences. I don't think that it was any secret that a lot of our Congressional representation wanted to end the use of fossil fuels. That many wanted open borders, and that some thought the Second Amendment is "Not Absolute". Some of them even said they wanted to do away with the constitution. Even after taking an oath (to be in Congress) to protect the Constitution.

Maybe we are just seeing what we voted for.

Sorry, Just thoughts. No intent to offend anyone. But Americans have made a choice. Maybe we have to live with our choices. Maybe these choices are right. Maybe we need to just follow everyone else.

Well said.
Fossil fuels high prices or “scarcity” is not “supply & demand”. It’s pressure to be run out of existence.

Drilling and oil production are at record highs this year. Government lands are indeed being used. Record production means the highest ever, yet you talk about pipelines and lands not being used.

I am not in the energy business. I know only what I read. That the gov leases had been withdrawn. And now, some have been reinstated, but it will take an extended length of time to provide help.
"Yet you talk about pipelines and lands not being used" Your are correct. Yet I do.
