The direction of this thread makes me think about situations and reasons - or maybe better "motives for decisions." Fuel prices are very high and still rising. Yet we here in the US have resources we are no longer using (pipelines and drilling on gov land (our lands). The supply chain issues (the LA shipping container mess) has not changed. Empty shelves - supposed to get even worse. Food prices rising and we are told that we are lucky because there may be no food on the shelves.
All this being said -----I was raised being taught that government collected revenue (taxes) to provide for the common good on its citizens. That government the purpose of gov was not to provide income if a person CHOOSES not to work.
If I look at motives. If I wanted everyone to look favorable toward ev, then this IS the way to do it. Many years ago, a department of US energy Sec made the statement - I want gas prices to be the same as in the EU. $9 a gallon. Well, we seem to be headed there. These issues - open boarders, fuel prices, supply chain messes are issues that fit right in the government bucket. They are broad issues that effect everyone.
It is true that elections have consequences. I don't think that it was any secret that a lot of our Congressional representation wanted to end the use of fossil fuels. That many wanted open borders, and that some thought the Second Amendment is "Not Absolute". Some of them even said they wanted to do away with the constitution. Even after taking an oath (to be in Congress) to protect the Constitution.
Maybe we are just seeing what we voted for.
Sorry, Just thoughts. No intent to offend anyone. But Americans have made a choice. Maybe we have to live with our choices. Maybe these choices are right. Maybe we need to just follow everyone else.
