We picked up six 48 count flats of bedding flowers and vegetables for $11.95 a flat yesterday at a local greenhouse. The 4 packs were $1. That's only .25 per plant.

Geraniums were $1.75 a piece in 2" pots, so we got 18 of those. Same for spikes.

Then we went to a local perennial greenhouse and got a bunch of perennials in 2" pots for $1 each. 6" potted perennials were anywhere from $6.99 - $12.99 depending on the variety.View attachment 744159
Those are great prices. Been years since I’ve seen those prices.

Went to 4 stores yesterday trying to find 5w40 Diesel oil in any brand for spring oil change. Had given up looking for T6, Blaine's website said they had 2 gal jugs in stock of their house brand. Every diesel oil shelf completely empty. So after two months of trying to find 5w40 I decided to give up and skip this spring's oil change. Stopped at O'Reilly's for some other stuff and ask clerk did they happen to have any 5w40 full syn? Leads me back to a picked over shelf with three remaining jugs of T6 on it. $31.95 per gallon, which truly is a fair price right now. I have bought a lot of T6 for 19.95 a gallon less 4.00 per gallon rebate...so just about double price. Saw a five gallon pail of delo a few weeks ago for $229.00☹️

OMG. I used to shop the sale on T6 each year, and it always wound up around the same. I'd get a 2.5 gallon jug for around 50 bucks and then a 14 dollar rebate. I just looked and the best price I can find right now is close to 80 dollars for a 2.5 gallon jug. That's insane!

Just paid $35.00 yard for 20 yds topsoil and $12.00/ lb for grass seed (fescue mix).

PLUS 10% surcharge for a small order size & 10% diesel fuel surcharge for delivery.

Just about double last years prices - which is about the amount of increase I'm seeing on everything. So I just cut my "buying new" budget and upped my "fixit myself" time budget and am doing about the same as always. But if prices go up any more I won't be

And boy are my muscles sore after hand-raking some 20 cubic yards of dirt. Took two days....The tractor spread it, but getting good grass started requires hand raking to cover the seed propertly for best germination.

With my tractor and all my attachments, I still use the good ol' metal rake in the yard all the time. Good thing I already have a metal rake because I am sure that is like 50 to 60 bucks now.

If sales drop due to price resistance does that mean prices come down or item no longer available?

Biggest surprise is no more nickel and dime fasteners... a small bag in palm of hand was $20+

In 2012 when I last bought this pump for work... $1400 including tax and freight.

Went to order the same yesterday... manufacturer says only one ready to ship and it is located at warehouse in another state.... just under 5k.

I have always heard the dollar is King but King isn't doing all that great and many retirement funds just took a hit so more expensive with less money.

Fortunate there isn't a lot I need to buy but do have some decks needing repairs... ouch.
Yea buddy, I was talking to a friend to day about folks on fixed income............. went something like this

Market is going to take (for some time at least) about 20% of my money.
Store is going to make the money I have left worth 50% of what it was two years ago.
Then, the people that we elected, are going to ask for a wealth tax on the 80 bucks I got left.

This is uncomfy for me, 1 less trip a year, and I have hard turned off any building projects on principle without regard to how much I would like to have something, I will never again pay $1500 for $250 bucks worth of lumber. I'll be fine (but bitchy). There are a lot of folks this will impact hard.

Best,

ed

Yeah, Those would not work on the swing set gear I bought. That was what I originally wanted to do. I bought commercial grade swing set equipment but those would not fit with the chains. The links I bought support 400 lbs. each. I think they will hold up ok.View attachment 744073
Those are the best times of your life right there. Enjoy and cherish them.

Charged me $35 labor, plus tax. Looking back, I'm surprised they didn't charge an $8 "shop supplies fee" on top of the labor...
This is why customers don't return. Loyalty is earned. Charging a half hour of labor to change out a simple part like that deserves to be price checked the next time around.

how about $590 for 3 led grow lights for my wife, so she can grow $20 worth of vegitables.
+ dont forget electricity bill :ROFLMAO:

My 700 $ greenhouse is the same sort story. :ROFLMAO:
BUT.
it will last 10 years
kids love it. check on first green stuff from dirt. That excitement is priceless
And radishes and peas from own garden tastes different.

OK, fruits stolen from neighbor are even better :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Loyalty goes both ways. If you only go there when you want something for free like having your check engine light scanned, don't complain when they charge you.

Why would you take your vehicle to get fixed if it's not broke?

I was finishing up my swing set for the kids and needed some snap links. They were 11.99 a PIECE!!! Lady at the register said they just went up to 14.99!!!😵. I am glad they honored the 11.99. I went to my local ACE because I did not feel like driving further to a Lowes. Not sure if it would have been a lot cheaper.

What insane prices are you paying for simple items like this? maybe we can start sharing where the discounts are at, if any.😁
I just got the bill from Mayo Clinic for an influenza test back in January. I had cold/flu symptoms and went in for a covid test, and she asked if I wanted to do a flu test at the same time. I said sure, go ahead not thinking about there being a charge for the flu test. So anyway, the charge for a flu test at Mayo is $359.00, of which my insurance covered a whopping 10%. Oh, and I didn't get the results for a week also, so it literally did nothing for me.

Ace is my last resort, if I need it now and even then I try to avoid. That is if they are freaking open! They close at 5 in town and at noon on Saturday. Useless for a store in my mind.

I paid 6.24/gal today for on-road diesel. I would think that qualifies as insane/crazy. I don't think enough people realize just how much of an impact this is going to have on the economy. Trucks, trains, tractors, construction equipment. This country literally runs on diesel fuel. Raise the price of diesel and you raise the price of everything. Almost as if by design...
Was intentionally by design...
