Strange, my wife's jeep is a 2018 and within 3-5 miles the new ones have picked up and sync'ed with the display.
My last 2 RAM's have been the same 3-5 miles and all reading correctly.
In reality, the only reason they are on new vehicles is the inability of people to check the air pressure in the tires on a regular basis. Kind of like an idiot light for idiots.

64°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 71° before the impending stormageddon drops it back into the 40s overnight. If this coming storm is even half as bad as the sensationalism heralding it's arrival, we're in for a Duesey. It probably won't be, of course, and it's frustrating how much the weather gets over-sensationalized these days. Some area school districts cancelled school for today. I don't understand this widespread penchant for maintaining a desperate level of constant fear. It's doing a disservice to the truly fear-worthy events.

Got the garbage gathered and walked the can down to the road yesterday evening. Got the sanding done on the speaker cabinet, but it was too windy in the garage to try to get it covered using spray adhesive. Maybe this weekend.

Just got a call from the farm supply shop in Centralia that my gold-plated mower tires came in today. Probably go out there tomorrow after work.

Already having one of those days at work today where no one seems able to tie their shoes without asking me if it's the right knot. Yesterday was the same, and it was a long day getting little done. So it goes.

Helo, it warms the heart to know that there are people like you helping others who find themselves in such extraordinary circumstances.

Condolences on your loss, Paul. Wonderful, though, that you had so many years with such a companion.

Drew, like others said, watch Craigslist and similar for a trailer. Or get a HF trailer. They are cheap and the wheel bearings need properly lubed right out of the box. But they are cheap and amazing how much abuse one will take. My $100 Craigslist HF trailer has hauled brush, mulch, garden tractors, 3 PT implements, motorcycles, and way too much firewood.

As a plus for you, you can fold them up to stow away. Mine is fixed and can’t be folded without a lot of work, but likely why it has withstood so much abuse.

Good Morning!!!! 38F @ 7:00AM. Partly cloudy this morning, then becoming cloudy during the afternoon. High 62F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph.
We're supposed to have rain overnight, but less than a quarter inch. Then more Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with as much as 1.5" total accumulation, then piddling amounts on and off next week. Too little, too late.

Before I retired and moved up here, I had a cleaning lady that escaped from Czechoslovakia, while she was pregnant with her baby girl. She told me she couldn't stand the thought of raising a child in a Communist country. Took her years, but she eventually made her way to Canada, then the US. Quite a courageous story, one maybe worth sharing with that troubled young woman, Helogabals.

It would be neat to recreate that beautiful photo of your daughter, Kyle.

The boys are making good progress on the driveway. The cut is now about eight feet deep at the top. They're still hitting a rock every now and then, but nothing that can't be dug out with the backhoe. I gathered up a few of them yesterday to get them out of the way, along with a couple of trees that had to come down on the loop road as they build it up with the dirt spoils. They're hoping there's enough rain to soften the dirt to make digging easier. If they continue at the current pace, they might actually finish in two more days.

I finally got through to a tech support person at Outback Power yesterday to ask questions about the voltage sag issue with the solar power system. He didn't have an answer, but promised to share the thread I started on their user forum with next level support personnel. He also told me my access to the web monitoring software had been disabled by the non-responsive contractor, and that he couldn't restore it. I asked that he escalate that issue, too, so we'll see what happens.

Yesterday was cool enough that the house only warmed to 68F, so I started a fire in the wood stove before dinner. Had to fill the wood cart first, probably the last time I'll have to do that before summer.

With the temperature in the high 30s this morning, I just checked and the crank-no-start problem with the van seems better. It sputtered and quit the first two start attempts, but caught and settled into a high idle the third time. Previously, it just wouldn't start at all with the temps that low. Today I'll get to wiggle wires and see if any make it quit while running. Might be a few other checks I can do, too.

Happy Hump Day!

That's one opinion.
I kind of like them, I have verified mine against a know good gauge and the display is within one psi. I find them
quite handy and like them. I also look at all my tires as I'm walking around them but the display is handy.
Are they a necessity ?, nope but handy and nice.

when you see what happens when a tire blows on the interstate, I'm happy to have an idiot light watching. Never know what you run over and get a slow leak from.

Oh Paul, so sorry about Emily. What a big beautiful dog, I always enjoyed giving her a scratch on the head after I got out of her way. Thank you for taking such good care of her.

landlady stopped by while I was planting some onion sets a friend gave me this morning, after I gave him some left over potatoes.
I wasn't going to plant onions because last years didn't do well, but that was partly due to having light/sun blocked by too high potatoes.
Now I've got the onions in the front row, first dibs on sunlight.

Put check for truck in the bank on way home and picked up more percoset for unhappy neighbor one week into new hip. She said they told her two weeks.

Two hours til next event of the day. time to put feet up

66°F and .40 inches rain

First thing, into town for Sophie’s ophthalmologist follow up. Sure hope he has good news. Could be some tense moments if she brings up comparison to my surgery. I will try to keep a civil tongue.

Then a few errands and back home. Continue with my computer exercise. Looks like my best immediate approach for my website update is continue on with the discontinued program and then transition to a replacement at a more leisurely pace. Almost every page needs work on the verbiage and all the pics need replacing.

Did do a major revamp of my banking spreadsheets but undecided as to whether I make the switch. Maybe just play with a single account for a bit before changing all of them.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Helogabals, thank you for helping her and sharing her story. We are thinking the same. Husband's legacy. I pray for her to get support from husband's family too.

I actually wrote this yesterday, but for some reason, it was still on the Ipad when I just logged on.... mmmmm....

Wind has subsided a bit, just strong breezes and the occasional strong gust. At least the dirt has stopped except for the occasional big poof. The southern part of the state will still have high winds.

On a worse note, there are now 5 wildfires going on in the state. Quite a few homes have been lost, latest report was around 50. The Ruidoso area getting hit hard. That fire blew up to 4,000 acres in a matter of hours. Unfortunately this was a dry front moving across, so no moisture to help fight the fires. It's gonna be a bad fire season.....

I'm still on track to get another pallet of bagged mulch. Can't beat the price.... works out to be $27 per yard. The bulk price for mulch from suppliers out here are $75 per yard, plus the delivery fee.... a pallet of bagged mulch is 4.8 yards, so a big savings for sure!
The local transfer station gives away free mulch, but it is't shredded enough, about 50% is sticks up to an inch thick and 6" long. It's great just to cover a large area for erosion or weed control, but it's not as pretty as the bark mulch in the bags.

Paul, I am so sorry to hear about Emily. Very hard to loose a close companion. I am still not over our loss of our little Kassie last July. I try to think about all the good times with her, it helps...sometimes....💔

Today's low temp went to 26°.... What happened to spring? Only going up to 45° and the strong breezes will continue today at 20-30, with gusts to 45. The rest of the week should get up to the 70's and light winds... WHEW!

I picked up the second pallet of mulch, the oldest son was home and unloaded most of it.... a big help! I was fortunate to just be the tractor operator and only lifted a few bags.

It was only about 36° when we were unloading with a stiff cold breeze.... my hands were going numb....

Drew, I have a 4x8' small utility trailer for things like the mulch or a bit of lumber.... works great for those small projects. I think you would accomplish what you need with one.... a lot easier than trying to cram stuff into the Volvo.

So sad to keep hearing of all the atrocities going on in Ukraine. Makes me angry that the UN and the European Alliance aren't doing more. We probably aren't even hearing/seeing the worst .....

I saw a sign that a Harbor Freight will be opening soon in our little local town.... That will be nice instead of driving the usual 40 miles to get to the closest one .... I hope I don't need to get those things that I didn't know I needed.... that could be costly...😲😬 Could I use the excuse that I'm supporting local business?

Tomorrow, I have a follow up appointment at the cardiologist.... however I found out it's only with his PA.... probably to review my B/P log and medication dosages. I'm still wearing the heart monitor for another week, so probably not discussing that yet. One would think they would schedule the appointment when that is done....

Everyone have a great day!

Just watched the news at noon.... the fire down south has now increased to 6300 acres and burned 150+ structures. Bad news. Wind still gusting to 60 mph in the fire area.

My last 2 RAM's have been the same 3-5 miles and all reading correctly.

Mine wasn’t new sensors, it just turned on the light in the manor of a fault code, you could read all the sensors with a scan tool, the were working fine. No reset method we tried would turn the light off so I just gave up, then I was doing down the road one day and the light went out and all four tire pressures showed up on the screen.

Paul, I know how heartbreaking it is to lose a good friend...it's tough and always brings tears, doesn't it?
My deepest sympathies to you and your family...
Are you having her cremated? And keeping her at home?

Cardiologist visit went OK...my heart function has improved considerably since the hospital stay last October...good news. Angina is still a problem and I should be getting a prescription to prevent it, rather then react. I hate taking another pill, but that's the price of old age, I reckon.
The cardiologist found the cause of the angina?

Park trail work rained out.

Paul, May Emily RIP.

65F with light rain and wind @ 15:00, high hit 71.8F today. Ten Day says reasonably warm through Saturday (highs in the 50's and 60's), followed by a cool down for three days (with a possibility of snow next Tuesday)

Had a great sleep last night, unfortunately I did not fall asleep until later ... so up later than I hoped for today. I find that there is a window of time - usually shortly after dinner - where I get sleepy. If I go to bed then I can usually fall asleep. If I stay up past that, then I usually have a hard time falling asleep.

USPS just dropped off the package with The Woman's dahlias at the front door ... so going to be lots of potting on the menu for the rest of the day. Thankfully we have plenty of pots available. May have to take the Cub and the dump cart up and grab some screened compost to use for potting soil in between the raindrops though.

There also should be another 2 pounds of wildflower seeds in that order.

Also got an email today from Holland Bulbs Farms that the asparagus and blueberry plants had shipped. Will be hard-pressed to have the garden area ready, so most of the edibles will have to go into pots until it is.

Have to take The Woman down here in a few to pick up her car at the shop. They checked the brakes which they said were good, and replaced the serpentine belt and a hose that was part of the evaporative emissions system that was causing the Check Engine light to come on.

After that She's going to run down and check out a new pair of shoes. They're the new version of the old ones She likes ... so hopefully they'll pass muster. Something about Her gait that causes the outside edges of the heels of Her shoes to wear before anything else.

Need to get the feeders filled today as well.

After sleeping most the day yesterday The Squeak seems to be recovering. She got a new toy yesterday, courtesy of the neighbor lady who said her cat was afraid of it.

Hope everyone is having a great Hump Day ... (y)
