Well, back from a long day driving.

Not as impressed with the primary lot we went to see. Hillsides a little steeper than I thought they would be. One restriction makes it a no go, we want to be able to use our camper on it. They prohibit camping on the lots. Several deer on it.

Looked at another further back in the country. Was surprised by it, thought it looked pretty sloping in the pictures, but there is a nice relatively flat area on it. Drove the car up access drive and walked around. Corn field right now.

Nice view and a nice big creek at bottom of hill across the road, could hear water running up on the lot. Great view. Church at the bottom of the lot. Told my wife we’ll have to become baptists. Actually 2, 8 acre lots. The flatter one is 20k more than the other.

Some covenants but haven’t seen them yet. This one about 20 minutes from town, but has a VFD right down the road.

Drove by 3 more lots. Should have got out and looked at one, but decided it’s too close to interstate, would hear the noise.

Ate supper at a steak house we hadn’t been to in years. Not quite as good as it used to be, but ok. New owners opened it back up last year, had been closed awhile.

I bought our 23 acres with a no camping according to covenants. We've had our camper on it for 4 years. We got to know the closest neighbors and they had no problems with the camper.

We need videos of this soap-opera.

Reads like my stepsons life and second (now ex) wife.
Then after 1 son and about 6 years she ran off with with someone else AND my stepson's son.
All worked out but a LOT of drama.

We looked at a place (years ago...probably late 90's) in western Virginia...somewhere south of Winchester.

I believe it's healthy to vent and all families I know of have drama issues. It's always amazed me how children can be raised by the same parents yet turn out so differently.
An example is my brother and I are polar opposites. He's more intelligent, much more educated yet no common sense. I could write a book...just a total mess and constant drama. Made what I consider a fortune over the years now a retired bankrupt alcoholic.
Always drama. (I erased lots of stuff I just wrote), but understand your pain.
It's not good holding that inside. Especially older I don't want drama.
My Dad (rip) would write his thoughts down then calmly but with assertiveness let the person know (my brother) how he felt and how he would not tolerate the drama.
They made the bad choices, you can love that person for who they are but not what they're doing. Basically I believe you have to say for your well being you will not tolerate and become embroiled in their mess.

Thank you! At this time, our 'game plan' is to continue what we have been doing, continuing on with our daily lives. It is strange to be sad, angry, and sympathetic all at the same time.....

We are definitely not rich, but have always been comfortable. We tried to instill moral values, a good work ethic, and common sense. Two out of three kids got it right.... this one? We can't figure it out, probably never will.

Nice land BEF! Is there a big difference in prices between them? I have given up on looking for another lot for now. Prices have gotten out of hand. We're going to wait a few years.
