Could be a good idea. Hard to do in print otherwise I'd guess. Some threads get so off track with people correcting spelling errors or splitting hairs about simple questions, sounds more like a bunch of wimmen getting their hair done rather than guys you'd sit and have a bier with... Anyone see my slippers?

Yup! There's limitless opportunities for stirring the pot if one is always on alert when they arise. Notice how some hopped on metaphors in this thread.
IMO online froums sometimes atract individuals seeking to make a fool of someone because they lack courage to try it in face to face coffee clubs and feed store geatherings. That statement is unsavory but harmless unless a name appear's in place of the word "individuals" or someone choose's to see themselves the subject. Dare I say a bad apple can spoil the whole barrel? I say let admin make the rules and how to inforce them or put it up for vote. If there's any amoung us that believe all preceptions of unequal treatment can be totally eleminted,they are already destined for disappointment.

He doesn't have to read every post. He just has to address the complaints. Sometimes that might involve "addressing' the complainer.

Yes sir,and that's one of many reason's for treating iterweb buds like we want to be treated. Hard to imagine how it feel's being tapped on the shoulder and asked "are the the one who call's himself Tater Salad"?

Why not just treat each other with respect even if you know they are wrong? Then it would be easy for someone to moderate.

Thats optimistic thinking, but not realistic. Unfortunately, most of us have been taught to treat each other disrespectfully. Many times, without even knowing the person as is often seen in on-line forums.
For example: A thread was started about Tom Brady retiring and within the first 2-3 pages of the thread, it turns into people calling each other “liars” and having “no character”.
We all fall into that trap from time to time, some worse than others.

I agree we should all treat each other with respect, but thats wishful thinking.

That's not true. Elements in our society might have that agenda. But society doesn't.

I was taught to treat others with respect. I also was taught that I am responsible for my actions not the actions of others. The focus unfortunately is more on rights instead of responsibility.

However, I will treat you with respect and you can treat me with disrespect. It doesn’t bother me in the least.

We tried no moderation in friendly politics. It was out of control. If members can't be respectful, they should take it somewhere else like fb.

I don't understand the need to control. Whatever for? It's just nothing more than a good old bar fight except that nobody gets physically hurt. It's seems that we have become pansies who can't even deal with a harsh word let alone a pillow fight.
