Good morning!!!!

   / Good morning!!!! #145,841
from my friend in the coffee business.
our cuppa is going to cost a bit more
Green Coffee is bouncing in the 2.50/lb. area plus increased freight and differentials

Plus the roasters have to increase their margins. We’ll get hit hard on our next

Increase as last year’s contract ends April where we were at 1.05/lb. Green last year.
The Coffee business environment is a mess right now. Brazil’s

frozen crop damage won’t improve for 3 years.

I really like Peets coffee and a few others but normally they are 12 dollar a pound coffees and my comfort level is around 8
Guess thats going to be 10 now. I have tried the domestic bulk stuff and it seems to get stale quicker and just have less flavor.
I'm sure part of it is how long it's been sitting in that can too.
I can only imagine how good Wngsprd's house smells when he is roasting that coffee.
And how much better it must taste. Coffee is one of those drinks where the smell is almost as important as taste.
Don't we all kind of sniff the coffee?

Ken, neat Jag. I think the ones we played in were one small gen later. There was a time when those Jag sedans were simply the best looking cars in the world.
From the minds of those who brought us the XKE. Which also begs the question, coupe or convertible?
Which would you want in your garage assuming you hit the lottery. Both are remarkably beautiful cars, instantly recognizable.
No adaptive cruise. Oh dear.

I had to fill my pickup up today at $3.659 and that was with a discount of $0.10.
Several other stations at $3.799, diesel at $4.299. $80.00 to fill the pu.
We're not to far behind...Gas $3.48 gallon...Diesel $4.05 gallon.

Thinking about making some homemade french fries or onions...maybe both, :)

our cuppa is going to cost a bit more
I heard a news story late last week that disposable coffee cups are getting hard to come by these days, supposedly due to a combination of shrinking availability of the wax that coats the cups and a labor shortage with the companies making the cups.

I almost bought a 1974 XKE convertible, then I got married instead. I finally bought a 1976 Formula 400, first new car. Check out the hair!

Everything is getting hard to get. Where I work, we use 1500 gallons of hydraulic oil/month. We have been on allocation of 1200 gallons/month. It was cut with 3 days warning to 500 gallons/month. So now we are scrambling to find a suitable replacement oil......

I am so glad I am getting out.

Drew- glad your kitchen did not catch fire.

Dftodd- how poorly made that the element cracked like that?

Last time I saw a heating element break was due to age and impact. Seems like yours had neither, maybe a factory defect.

My grandfather had Jag mk7 with the burl wood tray tables and a silver tissue holder in the back.
He got rid of it as maintenance was so expensive.
Had two gas tanks and fillers. Fun English designs of the era.
Fun as a kid to have pretend classy picnics in the back.
Looked like this one, might even have been this color:

Most likely age caused it. Could have been banged as well. That was about 2 years after we moved in the house.

House was a rental before we bought it, so there was no telling how old the stove was, or what kind of beating it took. House was 23yo when we moved in.

I almost bought a Mark II sedan...my favorite Jag sedan. This was when I was stationed in Naples, Italy

Had an E-Type for several years...beautiful coupe
Enzo Ferrari was said to have cried when he saw the XKE beautiful was his only word
They were up to 1968...they lost the headlight shroud (probably the wrong word) then. Fortunately, the bumpers weren't the hideous ones in later years.
The '68'salso had the 4.2 liter engines which didn't have the redline of the earlier 3.7 engines

I actually owned a Mk7 for a while.I liked the walnut dash and the little fold down tool kit in the drivers door. Mine was grey.

Roy, that car looks really close, the last one they had was a deep burgundy,
that paint was so rich it looked like you could squeeze wine out of it.

I remember playing with the hood ornament, the Leaper.
I had one of those on my 2004 XJR. That was the last of the classic Jags, though many would say these older models
were the classic ones. Now it was a little leaper and while it didn't disappear it was held down by a spring mechanism that allowed it to be moved around a little.

When I was about 18, I bought an early 60’s Mk II sedan. It had a 3.4 liter engine with a burnt valve. I did a valve job on it and drove it for several years. It had the tables and all the wood that drew described. It was a great car to drive, and even with Lucas and Smith’s electrics was quite reliable.

Good evening all. 42ºF for the start, clear sky, light breeze. Windy day today, sky remain clear, and high temp was 69ºF, DP 41ºF. Rain tomorrow night more cold this week and next. Bike ride to beat the worst of the wind still had .93 mile wind penalty. Putter after that nap after lunch. Need to get wood wagon and wheel barrow filled for cold coming.
Jim I never heard of anyone trying that here in the states.
