Have you come up with a solution for the generator adapter?
Once you have the crank out, it would be fairly easy to face the flywheel end of the crank, and drill ant tap it for a bolt to retain the flywheel if you have access to a lathe.
Yes, I have a nice lathe at work with a 6 jaw chuck and a steady rest. That's exactly the idea I have in mind. I still have to maybe make the PTO adapter plate, or if the other machine in Victoria has one that matches up. I think they match up.

Ice finally melted off the barn door latch, so I got the tractor out to play ... er, work a little this afternoon. Battery cranked a little slow, but it fired right up (after two glow plug cycles). Not bad for 20° and having sat for six or seven months. Got the rest of the driveway top cleared, then cleared the drifts across the drive down to the road, and cleaned up the small gift left at the bottom by the county plow. After that, I made a path from the house to the barn and chicken coop, and was done. Took me all of maybe 20 minutes. Spent almost as much time warming it up and adjusting the rear blade.

Can see some of the ice shimmer in the tree tops.

Enjoying the snow pictures! Glad we didn't get any. Hope everyone is safe and well fed during this weather.

Made two pot roasts in dutch ovens yesterday so we are well fed. Maybe a little too much.

Went to the grocery store and they were completely out of milk so I got two gallons of ice cream.

8° right now...high in the mid-teens...

Other than a dump run, get 5 gallons of diesel and some more snow clean up...that'll be enough today, I think

Good morning, low temp -14 and high to 7 °F on the plus side. Wind N 3 mph. Tonight is the fun side of winter, more snow on the way, tonight all day tomorrow and tomorrow night. We will see.

A knock on the door yesterday brought me $20.oo and a job clearing out a driveway on the neighbours place. Driveway is 3 cars long. Quoted him $100.oo for the year and I would plow him as often as I plow this place, which is after 3" have landed on the ground.
That might be low, but that is where I will start. Diesel fuel here is $1.64/L or $6.20/US gallon, if you buy it at the gas station, which I don't.

One of the cats woke me up, I guess the woodstove in the basement is almost out... He was right, I had to use a firestarter I get at the dollar store (Dollarama) to get it going.

The Kioti really didn't want to start in 3 degree weather and not pre-heated with the block heater. Two glow plug cycles and it fired for two strokes and quit. Another cycle and it fired on two of the three cyclinders, the third one cut in after I goosed it with a tad more fuel then idled it back down for 3 minutes then up to 1400 rpm for 15 minutes while I cycled the loader up and down for the next ten or so minutes.

Today is an energy conservation day and wait for the snow.

I found in the past and still do it to this day that if you spray fluid film (If you can afford it) or pam (which is cheaper) on your door seals and latches, nothing freezes to them.

Have a safe day all
