Looks like another one coming through Thursday and Friday...if the forecast holds, it'll be around a foot over two days...

Good morning! 10 now, high of 29 later. Got a dusting of snow overnight. First week of February is going to be a roller coaster of weather.

Rebuilt the ground drive of the snow blower yesterday. The original friction disc was really tired. I now have 1st gear again! Rebuilt the carb, but forgot to get a new plug. Try to get one today. Put new skid shoes on it too.

Not sure what trouble I will find today. Something needs attention.

Everyone stay safe out there.

Good. morning! 29˚F heading to 68˚F like Bird's forecast. It will be too pretty of a day to do cards this afternoon. Yesterday it was sunny and 67˚ and went for a 2 mile trail walk, it was a little harder during and after because of no lingering pain meds on board for several days now. Still it was better than before the operation when 1/4 mile was my limit. Looks like FireWise brush clearing will be canceled as heavy rain is predicted for tomorrow.

There will be a cool down Thursday and in the low 20s for 3 days so I'll pick the few beets and tiny bit of kale that was left from the last freeze Wednesday and get the garden ready for potatoes.

Every county in Texas has different tax rates based on valuation. Kyle's area hits the sweet place between Houston and Austin where most commuters find it too far to drive. The soil there is varied between black gumbo, to brown loam to beach sand and not rocky. In this county, on the NW side of 35 where the pretty hills are, it is too close to Austin and full of limestone and the valuation is high.
I can't speak for areas of Texas in the North, East or West, but South of here it gets flatter, very humid and property values rise and hurricanes are more forceful.

Good Morning!!!! 43F @ 5:45AM. Abundant sunshine. High 62F. Winds light and variable.
No need to report the broken record 10-day, except to say it'll be in the low 70sF by next weekend.

Good to read of no ill effects from the big snow storm. Those are some very chilling temps, though, and photos.

Welcome to the new GM members. The more the merrier!

The caretaker unit is coming right along, David. Is there room for a dishwasher under that new counter?

On a motorcycle ride many years ago, I saw a billboard on the outskirts of Winslow, AZ advertising motel rooms for sixteen bux a night. The other two fellas I was riding with didn't mind saving a buck or two, but between the holes in the walls and the roaches in the shower, it wasn't much of a deal. It didn't help that I had to use my own vise grips to work the faucets, or that I slept on top of the bed in my riding suit to avoid who knows what was living under the covers...

Finished the tear down on the motorbike yesterday, and got the bad lifter out and swapped back to the original cam. Much of today will be spent cleaning the parts and scraping gaskets, not my favorite activity but it must be done if the oil is to be kept inside the engine and not sprayed all over the outside.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend.

RNG I think your warm weather may persist into mid late February

9° was our low, now 17°
And my wife had the bathroom window open this morning, which resulted in the obligatory “were you raised in a barn” question. Wasn’t well received.

Nice to see snow pictures, without having to go out in it.

Can't think of any scenario where the wife would receive it well.
However if used on the kids I can see where they would have fun using your income level to counter the insult.
