Good Morning!!!! 54F @ 5:00AM. Sunshine and clouds mixed. High 64F. Winds light and variable.
Still no rain in the 10-day; sometimes I wonder why I bother looking.

I hope all the weather guessers are wrong, and the big snowstorm back east is a dud. But good to see so many of you are loaded for bear, just in case.

Still keeping an eye out for Ron, in hopes he'll change his mind.

How did the genny run in those cold temps, Drew?

Do they make a creeper with wheels large enough to not get stuck in the expansion joints in the concrete floor, Rich? I'm getting pretty tired of crawling around under vehicles, even when I lay down cardboard first.

Got a nasty surprise at the pharmacist's yesterday when a new inhaler prescription cost over $600 to fill. With no assurance from the doctor that it would work, that money might as well be spent on lottery tickets.

Took it easy going to town yesterday, bedding in the brakes on the truck. They got progressively better with each use, and were back to almost normal by the time I got home. What a relief.

The new sprocket for the chainsaw came in, as did another relay for the van, so I'll fool around with those today if I get a chance.

Got some surprisingly bad news on the homeowners insurance yesterday. It seems the company I've been with has gone out of business, and it's not clear whether or not I even have a policy anymore. The independent broker I've been using can't find any carrier except the California FAIR Plan, which provides wildfire insurance only for the princely sum of nearly $7k/year. Add another 1.2k/year for balance of coverage. So today I go shopping for another carrier, as this so called broker has done nothing to help keep me from going broke.

TGIF gang!🍻

22F and cloudy @ 08:15, heading up to a high of 25F ... followed by the big freeze later tonight. Will drop down to around 2F in the overnight, with only a high of 17F tomorrow.

On the temp roller-coaster here: cold tomorrow but back up to 46F for a high (with rain) by next Tuesday, then back into the high teens for a high on Friday.

Blackbirds (starlings) have returned, no idea where they have been but they're sure out there now, along the rest of the usual suspects that are normally around. Woman said there was a hawk on the ground around the hopper feeder ... so it likely picked something off for dinner.

Feeders will probably need refilled by late afternoon.

Couple of pics from a few days ago when I went out to fill the feeders:

Apparently either the taxus are not toxic to deer or they all now have stomach aches:

Spent over an hour on the phone last night with a friend who got sick a couple months ago, just after Thanksgiving. He was still hacking and coughing throughout our call.

Said it really kicked his butt. Normally he could go all day long and then some, but at this point he's worn out by 1:00 in the afternoon. He's still kicking though and hopefully will fully recover to his past health.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... (y)

And just remember: There's only 51 more days until Spring !

;)

RNG on a prescription that would have cost me $600 I got the exact product for $56 through Spring Meds - Affordable Online Pharmacy
Highly recommended. 1-888-305-1722. fax 1-888-305-1723. It came from HRx Pharmacy in Holladay UT.

Spring Meds might use different pharmacies for different meds. ??

RS, how are you making out with repairs to your Kubota?

LOL ... not going to happen until the high temps get up into the 40's or 50's consistently.

Just too cold ... takes too long to heat up the building and what's in it ... and too much wood to heat it when it's that cold.

Not like I need it to do any landscaping at this point ... ;)

Did they have the parts?

Hard to say, since I haven't split it yet so don't know exactly which parts are needed for certain.

But from the checking I did do, most of the likely culprits should be available ... as they were used on the replacement models that came later after they stopped producing the model we have.

Good luck on the refrigerator project ... (y)

Good morning! 36˚F heading to the mid 50, full sun and North wind. Ron I hope you found your tranquil place, if you need any diversity we will be here.

I'm ready to start in the gym today on my time and pain level, which is Egore inspired, and will probably be more since discontinuing the pain meds. I'll try to work up to a 125˚ "cold" bend to prepare for the next Dr. visit in March. The doctor's knee flexion test is just bend it as far as you can sitting in the office and then he eyeballs it. It so unlike Egore 30 minute warm-up bends and then laying on the torture table while he flexes his arms ready to assist and then measures - slowly - with his accurate ˚ ruler after he locates the hip joint and the ankle joint.

26°F and snow flurries this morning, going up to 33° today.

Spent the remainder of my afternoon yesterday after lunch running one of the Bridgeport mills. Our Project Manager set up the job, but there was no one to run it, and we needed the parts. So, my arms got a good workout cranking on that thing for a few hours. Easy part, just tedious and repetitive. It did make the last half of the day fly by, though. Someone else is finishing that job today.

Some more great pictures today, gents.

65°F and no rain

Go to Hilo town this morning. HD and some other stops.

Double with the Craftsman mower appears to have been the reverse switch. Now a new problem, start bit the dust.

May look at a BX23s this afternoon. Listed on Craigslist and just a few miles away.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
