I remember Barbasol quite well. Until I found a good source for cake shaving cream that is the stuff I used until I stopped shaving. Shaving, like haircuts are both a waste of money.🤣🤣🤣

Morning all and 19 degrees going up to 35 and no snow
Talked to friend in NY, he only got some flurries. Seems like all of you south of us got walloped.
Hope you are all safe.

David, so glad to hear that Sophie's operation went well. I hope the follow up shows huge improvement.
BEF-looks like traffic was not kind in that snow. Wise choice not to try it
Feel better Roy - Dump isn't going anywhere-get rest
Buppies-careful if you go outside.

Stay safe and be well,

Good Morning
It’s 17 with a forecast high of 35. Clear skies, and light winds.

Yesterday’s snow remained invisible all day. I didn’t go out on a service call, stayed home all day, tinkered in the shop, did a little bit of cleanup, and computer work until heading down the YouTube rabbit hole. Zoom Oddfellows meeting, then bed time.

Today might be more of the same, but I’ve got some chores that I want to get done in the house, hopefully I’ll get started on them.

Good morning. No snow here yet, just back to regular icy mornings with more heat sucking winds. Mk 3 Jay proof peanut feeder has had them puzzled for 3 days. They are such smart birds I need to wait a good few more before I can claim victory.

Thomas, sounds like you well deserve a rest from that "part time" job.

David, good to hear it went smoothly for Sophie.

Eric, that went on for ever, and ever, and ever, and ever....
On the bright side, no one reading that has since complained of sleeping problems :giggle:

18 outside this M. Heading to 32. Area was fast slammed by that storm yesterday. Got just over 10 inches of heavy wet snow. Roads still impassable, lots of trees down, on property too. No power since yesterday, 3PM.

Will check in later.

Be safe.

Well the snow Came yesterday. Hit with a vengeance. Power went out at 8 30 am. I went back to bed for 2 hours. Got up and started shoveling. (No tractor here. We are in a rental). Once I got us cleared we drove to our farm and brought back small generator and some firewood. Roads are hellish mess.
Ran the Gen all night with an oil filled heater in the living room. Was 54 degrees in living room this morning. 18 outside.
I have a torpedo style propane heater I could run if things get real bad but I’d have to open windows in front and back of house. I am not sure what would be gained but its an option.

Unplugged heater at 530 and hooked up wife’s computer equipment so she can work. She pushes boxes around the globe. Across the sea and on trains and trucks.
Got one fridge running right now. In an hour I will hook up the chest freezer. Dont want to lose all the meat I bought 2 weeks ago.

I dont know how you guys keep up with all the posts. I try but always fall behind.

Don did you ask therapist why he move seat forward?
Yes, he said it looked like I was having too much fun and when the seat is moved forward my knee bends more causing me pain and grief and that is what he get gets paid for. He wants me to yell ouch ouch ouch every once in a while so his supervisor would know he is doing a good job.

Good morning! 30˚F slight wind from the south heading to the mid 60s.

As you remember there was a low in the new county's covid cases on the day of my surgery only 20 reported. Yesterday they reported 1310 new cases (mostly ages 18-30). This was the highest count since the beginning of covid. However there are plenty hospital rooms and surgeries are not being postponed. Last year when fewer were reported we got down to just 2 ICU beds, and elective surgeries were postpone for months. Yesterday there were still 47 ICU beds available.

I felt good enough yesterday after the early PT (and after an afternoon nap) to walk Whipper and to drive to cards and play. I had gone 12 hours with no pain meds. However I only won 2 of 5 games and the knee was feeling uncomfortable the last 3 games and was glad to be home afterwards. Slowly getting back to normal.

David hope Sophie is doing well.

Good morning! Was 16 when I got up, supposed to get to 37 later. Rest of the week is a bit of a roller coaster of temps and types of moisture coming from the sky.

Truck tires are healed. Local independent tire dealer I have used for years was able to fix the tire. So now to get ready to head south.

Hope everyone gets dug out, gets power back, etc. Looks like a mess.

Going to FL for the start of flat track season. 3 days of practice/racing this weekend. There is gonna be a lot of the top pro and amateur riders there.

Better get moving and get the trailer ready to go.

Everyone stay safe out there!

25°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 42° today. Snow predicted for Thursday, maybe an inch or two, and single digit lows for Thursday and Friday.

One of the bright spots that came out of the bad meal family get-together last week was talking with The Wife's aunt and cousin about their investment guy. They seems to have done very well with him, so they gave us his name and contact info. Turns out, it's a guy I went to high school with who was a year ahead of me. She talked with him yesterday, he sent me an email recap, and I like what he's saying. So, we're making the switch. Maybe I'll get to retire before 65 after all.

Drew, I've been using Barbasol for as long as I can remember. I tried a bunch of other trendy and popular shaving creams when I started shaving, and most have too much goopy gel in them that just clogs up the blades. Barbasol Original and Bic disposable single blades work fine for me.

67°F and 1.67 inches rain (at home)

Breakfast here in Honolulu then fly home about noon. Be nice to get home. Sophie doing OK. Eye still patched so no idea as to vision.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Although I have to admit, when I was awake at 5am this morning I was debating with myself SIP construction vs stick built and spray foam.
And a timber frame great room, wonder where that idea came from?
My wife knows enough to not let me start building another house at my age, as much as I’ll probably try to convince her someday.

I’ve been looking for retirement land. Saw a nice 8 acre lot last weekend, but in a county I don’t want to be in. I really need to start checking out permit requirements in some of the counties to see where they are less restrictive. Course that can change before I’m ready.

I don't think I would ever do a sips. If you are looking for land, etc., first thing to check is zoning; as far as permitting, make sure there are no "connection fees". It's getting harder to find nice land, privacy, and affordability. Good luck.

Are you planning on building a structure that permits would not allow you to build. Confused.

Just got off phone with my son. Been sitting on US 1 for hours north of Fredericksburg for hours. His first run on a north/south route Harrisburg to Miami and back. Should have kept his east to west coast run for a few more months.
