Not sure. I bet there’s some who would share a car, but most Americans like to own their own cars.
If there is parking space it's no problem, most cities in the world have to much people to have space to park cars, so a EV car share is a solution, this works if public transport works so you don't need to use a car to work.

Partially agree, but what would solve the problem?
Cost of cell phones came down due to mass production techniques off shore. That’s a different situation than inner city people having charging stations.
I don’t see any way (physically) you can have a charging station for every car in the inner city under the current charging methods.

Therefore, under current charging techniques only rich people with driveways or garages can have a charging station.
Inner city people have tax payer funded Mass Transit... Out in the country we get bumpkis . I'm ready for mine, I earned it.

Yeah, maybe, but people want cars.
Only ”fair/equitable/equal” solution is every parking space equipped with a charging station, for now.
Not parking meter spots, assigned parking spaces.
Dude... you are killing me... did we switch sides somewhere???

Ive always been about fairness. I treat my kids equally. People just want to be treated the same and given same opportunities. I think the EV revolution will drop the ball here. They aren’t accessible for city dwellers, even some wealthy city dwellers who don’t own a garage for charging station.
EVs should not be built only for the rich.
It makes or is going to make people who can’t afford/impossible to own feel like they are looked down upon because they have to drive ICEVs.

Which takes inner city people how far? To the city limits? That’s not fair.
Meanwhile you have your F-150 Lightning which can take you so many places they cannot go because you have a charging station.
Besides, you can use public transportation in the city when you visit one. It belongs to everyone. Not just city people.

Couldn't disagree more... There is nothing EQUAL in this world. You want it? Work harder for it. I subsidize plenty of poor family's as it is. I surely don't owe them a car, or a charging station. Not too long ago I pulled up to the main entrance of King of Prussia Mall; and right up front were several Tesla parking spots with chargers... Now THAT I don't like to see and don't think is fair...

1) I don't have a Lightning yet...
2) Use inner city public transport??? Are you nuts???

It surprised me to learn that many people in the big cities have no interest whatever in going out in the country. Just never occurred to them, they have no curiosity or interest in what is beyond the populated territory. Mass transit is their whole world, over many generations.

No need for a personal auto, walk a block for groceries. Uber or a moving company is a cheaper alternative for the rare need to transport something.

Funny example: A friend is from NYC. She now lives in California. Her mother in NYC asked her in all sincerity if we here can see the network TV that New Yorkers watch.

Another friend: Born in Boston, dad worked for a global computer company, was sent to Hong Kong then Singapore. Kid went to International (US oriented) schools while overseas. He prefers an apartment in a large complex and rarely drives his Prius.

EV's aren't for everyone. A personal car isn't needed by everyone. Many Europeans live where a car is impractical and they wouldn't want one.

Never said give anyone a car  . I said make charging stations available to people in cities.
Good to see you are seeing how the rich are being subsidized by the poor at KoP Mall. It disgusts me, too.

There’s millions of people living in the city raising families and driving cars, too. I know dozens of them and visit them regularly. They have no chance of EV ownership and feel left out of the EV revolution.
