Both were older, vaccinated, heavy set with health complications, and one was being treated for cancer and actually out lived his prognosis by 6 months. They died a day apart.

Hi guys,

I'm the OP and dropped in to say goodbye to this thread. I began the thread to satisfy my curiosity about the death rate from COVID. Undoubtedly, there are better ways but this was the best I could do.

The reason I asked for replies without comments is that COVID is controversial and I didn't want the thread taken down or frozen before there were enough responses for me to be satisfied. There are now enough for that and I'm going to do like Sparc, who started "Pallets in fields" and withdraw from my own thread.

It's a tangled mess. Both my wife and I, our two daughters and their husbands, and our six grand children and their spouses have had it; none of us were hospitalized. Only my SIL, who is 94 years old, was hospitalized for any length of time, as was a friend who is in her 50's, but has diabetes.

Does it, tho? Let's have another thread: How many people have you known "personally", who died from COVID-19...but who also had heart disease, diabetic complications, kidney disease, cancer, stroke, etc, which would have done them in anyways. Sooner than later.

"How many people do you know who were totally healthy and then got the vid and died?" Let's answer that, coz so far only a few people posting in this thread made such a claim.
Me first: I don't personally know anybody, who personally knows anybody, who that happened to. I'm sure it does though. People get bitten by sharks and hit by lightning, too.

It does, it confirms the <1% death rate for covid. Which means the average person will know 2-3 people.

Trying to put other qualifiers in will pollute the data.
