My neighbor was trying out new LED’s on his tractor while using my Tractor-Vac couple days ago.

Started looking at leaf vacuums, saw a few cyclone's but they were gone before I could even make the call.
Not time critical, but it would be nice to have one since I spend so much time doing this.

Have any of you tried a lawn sweeper? Good enough for an acre or two of lawn?
Good posts on leaf clean up, guys!!

Ron ,
Does the Trac Vac fold down and fit in the back of a large truck, like my Jeep Grand Cherokee?

When his LEDs are on, do satellites pick it up

that's ok Ken, when all my xmas lights are lit up, you should see the glow "over the mountain".
I'm going to see how many I can plug into one 15 amp outdoor receptacle. That should do quite a few LED light strings.
I bought more lights and some cord adapters at TruValue this morning, got gas for truck in NJ, saw owner of gas station wearing mask outdoors.

I questioned that and was told his father, Robert Heath, in his 90's just got covid, likely from grandchildren so now whole family has to mask up all the time.
For sure he's worried about his Father. Seems to be a problem here with the kids, whole second grade got sent home last week in one local school

I think I may buy an artificial small tree this year. Paying 65 bucks for a four foot tree last year just seemed wasteful even if it did smell nice.
I have room to store it in the basement so might see what the same 65 bucks will buy me in something permanent. I'll put my own decorations on it anyway.
And no watering.

Good Morning!!!! 48F @ 8:15AM. Cloudy early with peeks of sunshine expected late. High 63F. Winds light and variable.
Despite a foggy start yesterday, the sky cleared and the temps remained mild. Looks like more of the same today.

All those RTV loads of brush leave me very appreciative of the new grapple, Mike. I've only used it a little on brush so far, but from what I can tell, I can get a whole RTV load in a single grapple bite if I work the FEL controls correctly. And not have any sticks trying to poke my eye out.

Glad to hear of your positive experience with the new hose reel, Paul. I ordered a wall mount version yesterday. ChaChing!

In my experience, Timkin (and SKS and others made by US based companies) bearings are pretty much unobtanium if you insist on made in USA bearings, Drew. I'll settle for Japanese or Taiwanese bearings, and try to stay from anything made in China or India.

Slow day yesterday spent sorting through email and snail mail that came during the trip. Got a Determination Notice from the Fire Victim Trust, pretty much what I expected but about 1% of what I need to get back to even. I'll be appealing for a larger settlement. Three years and eight days after the Camp Fire, and that's the best they can come up with? I'll leave it at that.

Also got word that my riding buddy made it home OK, with the fog clearing for him once he reached the valley floor.

Also learned that a friend I'd hoped to see again at the Rendezvous has a sister with pancreatic cancer who is undergoing chemo therapy. She's awfully sick and needs a miracle. I lost another friend a couple years ago to the same disease, and his favorite saying was "I need a miracle every day." He lost his battle after a two year fight.

Decided on a camp fire after dinner to enjoy some music and a nice bottle of wine. Interesting sky with an almost full moon.

Happy Hump Day, folks!

60°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 69° today, then falling through the afternoon and evening into the 30s overnight. Supposed to be some rain coming with that cooler air sometime after noon. The only thing I saw on the radar this morning was some snow making it's way across Ontario. Looks like some rain is starting to pop up to our northwest now.

Our chickens have been molting. We've gotten three eggs in the last two weeks. One of the Brahmas looks like a cartoon chicken that has been hit by a truck or something. Pretty entertaining.

Bird, my Wife and I have yet to have an argument. We've been together for just over 18 years, and married for just over eight. I think we both must have gotten that silliness out of our systems with previous relationships. We've had plenty of disagreements over minor things, but it was never anything serious enough to let it put stress on our relationship. It probably helps that she has her sewing room upstairs at one end of the house, and my studio is downstairs at the other end, and we know we need to get some separation when one of us gets crabby.

Ken, my Wife had a lawn sweeper that she pulled behind her rider before we were married. It worked great for grass, but as Ron noted, it filled up too fast with leaves. We've found that a backpack blower works best for us. Besides, she loaned the sweeper to her uncle, who found a way to destroy it and just never replaced it.

daugen, no errant needles to pick up. If you like the piney smell, you could pick up a 'little tree' pine scented air freshener.

I bought a 50" lawn sweeper, should be here in a few days and will let you know how it works.
less than $300 all in.
Most leaves here just get pushed into the forest, but the lawns need cleaning.
I figure each of the lawn areas will fill the bag, dump and move to the next one.
Will build up a mulch pile for the gardens.

Gate looks sturdy, may put a finish on it.
