Good Morning!!!! 48F @ 8:15AM. Cloudy early with peeks of sunshine expected late. High 63F. Winds light and variable.
Despite a foggy start yesterday, the sky cleared and the temps remained mild. Looks like more of the same today.
All those RTV loads of brush leave me very appreciative of the new grapple, Mike. I've only used it a little on brush so far, but from what I can tell, I can get a whole RTV load in a single grapple bite if I work the FEL controls correctly. And not have any sticks trying to poke my eye out.
Glad to hear of your positive experience with the new hose reel, Paul. I ordered a wall mount version yesterday. ChaChing!
In my experience, Timkin (and SKS and others made by US based companies) bearings are pretty much unobtanium if you insist on made in USA bearings, Drew. I'll settle for Japanese or Taiwanese bearings, and try to stay from anything made in China or India.
Slow day yesterday spent sorting through email and snail mail that came during the trip. Got a Determination Notice from the Fire Victim Trust, pretty much what I expected but about 1% of what I need to get back to even. I'll be appealing for a larger settlement. Three years and eight days after the Camp Fire, and that's the best they can come up with? I'll leave it at that.
Also got word that my riding buddy made it home OK, with the fog clearing for him once he reached the valley floor.
Also learned that a friend I'd hoped to see again at the Rendezvous has a sister with pancreatic cancer who is undergoing chemo therapy. She's awfully sick and needs a miracle. I lost another friend a couple years ago to the same disease, and his favorite saying was "I need a miracle every day." He lost his battle after a two year fight.
Decided on a camp fire after dinner to enjoy some music and a nice bottle of wine. Interesting sky with an almost full moon.
Happy Hump Day, folks!
