Good morning!!!!

Good morning, the low was 36°F and we are going to a high of 41. Sunny. 2% chance of showers this morning.
Normally I use environment Canada for my weather but that site is having a problem this morning so I switched to weather.com.

Although we had had a couple of heavy frosts, one hard enough to do in the remaining tomatoes on the plants, there is still no sn*w,< that is a four letter foul word>, in the forecast.

North Bay trip is in the cards for today. Leave here at 8:30 A.M. and be back about 3:30 P.M. as far as I know today there are only 8 stops. There are some that we can 'kill two birds with one stone'.

Have a safe day all

Morning all,
Had the tractor out to move the big slab benches around.
Play (clue) at the high school was pretty good. The girl my son hangs with was in it.
Tired today, so much to do...

PopG-glad your training ride went well, hope you get to miss the storms while airborn

Went to start the lawn tractor yesterday, only one click, battery less than a year old and I swore it was on the charger.
Will see what that is about today.

Rip-glad to hear the new septic is finally in!

Kyle- as kids we used to have bottle rocket wars. Would hit each other sometimes. No lasting damage done, but...

stay safe and be well,

RNG, it's all controlled by legal. If they rotate them at older than 7 years and they blow on you killing someone, they may assume some liability as last professional that
touched the tires. 7 years of free rotation isn't a bad deal and most folks wear their tires out in that period of time. Most newer tires have improved cold weather performance which may be irrelevant to many of you but to those of us who get winters, newer tires often mean better grip. Hopefully they grind up and recycle the old ones.
My friend's Ridgeline had 45k on the oem Firestones and they still had a surprising amount of tread. But they were only four years old.
His concern is that between his four tires he had four plugs in them. Never a problem afterwards, but does he want to drive across country on four tires with 50k miles on them and
at least one plug in each? I think this is where he sells his existing tires to the second hand market for a hundred bucks and would ride with more peace of mind with new tires.

The Hispanic fellow who bought my 275/20's for his sister's boyfriend's Ram truck wedged them into a seriously rusted out Honda Civic Hatchback. Jammed those dirty tires into the back seat and then last one in the hatch. On the way out he dropped the bomb that he need two more, gosh six tires on this truck. And I'm thinking, oh no, you foolish person, you have a dually and you very, very likely need E rated tires and these sure aren't those. I just didn't want to know... After he tried to beat me down 20 bucks on a firm price deal, I wanted him out my driveway.

That's some good perspective, Drew. Thanks.

This would have been the second time Costco would have rotated the tires, but the truth is I did it myself the first time, so that "free rotation" offer isn't of as much utility or value to me as I thought it would be. Truthfully, it was pretty inconvenient having to wait around for a couple hours for them to do 30 minutes of work. I spent that time filling up a shopping cart, so it was worth a lot more to Costco than it was to me. Neither was the free flat repair. I used it once, and it was more like three hours of waiting, and they told me they'd do their best to get to it that day, but couldn't guarantee it. Maybe they need to take better care of the customers they already have?

While I agree that I wouldn't drive these tires across the country again, the tread pattern on this set of Michelin Defenders was good enough to get me across the Rockies and back in the depth of winter, with a few white knuckle stretches thrown in there just to keep things interesting. I carried chains on that trip, but never broke traction so didn't put them on. Not sure how much better a tread pattern needs to be. For my needs, the tires on there now will easily go another couple of years. The sidewalls aren't checked, the tread depth is still pretty good, and for getting back and forth to town, they're all I need. And when it's time to replace them, I'll look up the shop that tried to help me with what I thought was a balance problem on the van. They spent an hour balancing four tires they didn't sell me, then wouldn't take a dime for their time.

Good morning! 51˚F heading to 70, clear skies. The wind really picked up yesterday sending leaves on the ground over the house.

Got an appointment for my Moderna booster and wife's JJ booster at the same pharmacy tomorrow. I guess we will both be felling poorly Sunday. The booster jab will take me off the knee surgery waiting list for seven days but it should reduce my chances of contracting Covid in the hospital.

Slept with window open last night, inside temp went from 75 to 72 overnight.

Ron quite an assortment of birds in the morning pic, so birds of a feather do not necessary flock together when free food is offered.

Kyle the lemon tree was not on the patio and on the North side of the house, but it was covered.

Today is National Cat day, I need to get GrayTwo a present.

Pic is the new neighborhood 2 mile trail that will be opened Nov. 1. I did a sneak preview with Whipper.

50 degrees going for 71 and only 15 mph breeze this morning. I knew it was windy yesterday, but I guess even worse than I thought for some. The TV news listed a lot of places with power outages, and even showing some to still be out this morning. The DFW Airport had lots of flight delays yesterday. I can just imagine pilot taking off and landing with a 50 mph cross wind. Maybe things will be back to near normal today.

"Just read that Alec Baldwin is in Vermont...wonder if he'd be interested in some target shooting while he's here...?"

You might better see if he wants to learn how to check to see if a firearm is loaded!

Don, the latest Medcram video talks about which booster to choose. Sounds like you get better results if you had J&J if you boost with one of the others.

53° and .17” of rain. Radar shows green and yellow from here to Buppies area. Occasional gust of wind really sends the yellow leaves flying.

No decision on camping yet, can’t check in till 3 pm

Was up way too late last night.
Got these fall bugs getting in behind one screen that doesn’t fit tight.
