Anyone switched from the Kubota Brand oil 15w40 to T6 5w40?

I noticed my jugs of kubota 15w40 over the last few years are not identical oil types anymore so I'm not sure what may have changed... but I did notice when it's < 45*F it's noticeably rougher starting.

I have T6 5w40 on hand already as I use it in various other engines... thoughts? experiences ?

What does your owners manual say for winter operating temperatures? that's the first place to look.

I use T6 Rotella 5W-40 in my L3830GST and my RTV1120 because I use them year around. My ZD326 gets T6 in 15W-40 as it’s warm weather use only.

Use the T6, your Kubota will thank you.

All my diesels run T6 5w-40, 2 Kubota's and its a marked improvement on cold start.

For engine oil I buy what's on sale - 20L pails of T6 work great

T6 is all I run in both my Kubota diesels, as well as several other small engines

Whatever oil meets the tractor specifications.

Different brands of oil are all bottled on the same production line.

Kubota seems very restrictive in my owner's manual. But on their web site they clarify that weights over than 10-30 or 15-40 can be used:

Kubota | Lubricant & Grease Maintenance Schedule

I switched my tractor to 5-40 and it's doing fine. Have not had a cold start yet but I now keep a small milkhouse type electric heater in the garage anyway.

I use that oil in my Dodge Cummins motor and cold weather operations are much better. IDK about small Diesel engines but I’ve been tempted to run it in my tractor.
