50° right now...high in the low 60's and overcast...pretty much a repeat of yesterday.
I'd written today's chores yesterday, but a short rehash:
Get the Deere's upper link freed up so I can rig the snow blower. Mow/mulch the leaves, if it's dry enough...doubt that happens though.
One addition, have step daughter help me move the TV table a bit so I can replace the Samsung Blu Ray player with a Sony unit I just bought. The help is necessary to stabilize a 55" LCD TV. It's a very nice LG unit

And, of course, take care of wifey (who's doing good, but still can't walk) and puppy (who's doing better everyday, but still puppy mischievous)

Ordered some new furniture today but will be lucky to see it this side of Christmas. The salesperson was hopeful though but at least he was honest. New dining table and chairs, sideboard and coffee table. All matched so should look real nice when the kitchen dining area is done.

Good morning.
It’s 59 going to 65 with a chance of rain today.

Yesterday’s trip was uneventful, lots of storm activity along the coast, but didn’t impact us.

Today has me taking a group to Tampa to watch a football game, early start and late finish to my day today. I’m looking forward to the next couple of weeks when I don’t go any where.

good morning all
light rain overnight but very little, .02 on gauge and maybe a little more today.
57 now going up to mid sixties today in clouds

was very disappointed to find a big patch of rust on right rear fender lip of new to me truck. I'm going to tear it out and see if I can fix it or
if it has to go to body shop. Sure shows me how much salt this truck was in. Ron, two gallons? Sure is a lot cheaper to buy in bulk than spray cans, expensive stuff.
My fault for not seeing this, dark charcoal grey truck hid the bumps. And when I picked on them, wasn't looking good.

ordered a new set of Firestone Destination LE3's for truck from tire store in Doylestown, couple bucks cheaper than tirerack.com. Truck has Goodyear SR-As on
now, oem tires, and they are rated poorly and apparently don't last long, typical cheap as possible oem tire. Seller put two brand new tires on the rear and was amazed that I was
considering replacing them. But they are brand new! Yup, but they are junk tires and the only reason you put them on was that A. they were cheapest tire available and B. they matched the half worn tires on the front. Big raised white letters, not what I want. So I will sell them on Craigs List and get some money back for them. 275/60/20 tires, same as I had on last Ram.
These tires squealed every time I gave it gas at a light and I had to feather foot it to appear a little more mature...

got my tow straps and emergency gear stored away in Ram Boxes. Nice they lock by remote control. Once one has been a fireman, it feels naked traveling without
your "gear" in the trunk. I don't mean turnout gear but tow straps, big fire extinguisher, etc. Tomorrow I'm headed to Tractor Supply to get a tow hitch and ball.
Not sure if I'm going to get a single ball or the one with multiple balls. Something that is height adjustable is always good. These 4x4 trucks sit up pretty high and small trailers
want a lower hook up spot. I'm only going to tow a one ton trailer so maybe a simple 2" ball would be fine. Put something good back there and that means putting a lock on it, since
these things can grow legs.

am off to church in a little while and afterwards have to make a presentation to the business meeting regarding campus security.
Going to raise the hair on some necks this morning but has to be done. We may be the peaceable kingdom but the world isn't and we need to
be more mindful of social realities. Our location isn't far off Route 95 and the have nots and crazies come out of Philadelphia looking for
money and adventure in the suburbs. Getting seriously non violent folks to consider violence at their door is a really tough sell.
But my job is to present the facts and let the others decide how to proceed.

Our natural reaction is we need to love the intruder. My personal reaction is we need a large can of pepper spray, zip ties and a ballistic shield.
When your faith is based on pacifism, this is a very interesting discussion. I'm an alpha and a guy who would immediately stand up to get in someone's way.
Others need to flee and hide. Sadly we need to give some thought to, and be prepared for, a "let's roll" situation. I expect to get wide eyes and shaking heads this morning but
knowing that makes it easier. Hopefully at least we can get some better door locks and maybe a panic button in both the church and the nursery school.
When you are responsible for a room full of little kids, this all gets very real.

I have done thousands of feet of laminate..... not kidding.... both for customers and for our own.
Yes, it can go either way. Like Lou said, longitudinal makes it look longer, laterally will make it look wider..... but....
Depending where the light is coming from.... you will see the seems. So the light reflection will highlight the end/butt seams. If your light is coming in from the long sides, run it longitudinal. If the light is coming from the narrow sides, run it laterally. You want the brightest light to shine down the length of the boards. Installing this way will make the seams "disappear".

For under the cabinets, I have never done that, always left a 1/4" away from the kickplate. This allows for any expansion. Always ran it under the stove and the refer.

Did you get the foam or cloth type underlayment? Not absolutely necessary, but does make for a quieter, 'softer' install. I did one floor without the underlayment and it was much louder and would occasionally "pop" every now and then when you walked on it.

I’m getting ready to do 600’ of bamboo laminate. My current floor is under the appliances but spaced from cabinets an wall.
I’ve used a vibrating saw to take 1/8” off the bottom of the quarter round so I didn’t have to remove it.

Good morning, the low temp is 60°F and the high will be 64. Wind SSE 9 mph. 40% chance of rain or drizzle.

I had to move half of the wood pile, it wasn't dumped where I wanted it but that happens when I am not here to spot it, even though I told him (Junior) where I wanted it. Next spring I will break out the road paint and mark where I want it.

Got 1/3 of the pile in the basement. I need to do a little 'customizing' to the frame of the conveyor so it will go farther into the window. I will do that today.
The power washer isn't going anywhere. It is still in the back of the Dodge, in its' box.

Outside work just got cancelled. Pissing down rain. If the rain slows down some, then I will pull the Dodge out a bit and start setting up the pw.

Drew, imho Goodyear tires are only good for one year. I've got Dunlops on the Jeep, but I am not happy with them but due to the age of her and the frame issue I am having with it they will be the last tires on it.

Have a safe day all

Good morning! 74˚F heading to the 90s South wind cloudy. Front is pushing through at midnight giving us a chance of rain and a slight drop of temps.

Kyle, how does the violin sound, were you able to tune it or does it sound like the cat? Will your daughter be getting lessons? I'll be heading over to the parking lot you parked in for cards this afternoon. I think Whipper would like a snake-in-a-box. We have a variety of 16 kinds of snakes in the neighborhood but I have only seen two. Maybe after the Spring Garage Sale you can stop by the house.

There were about a thousand people at the garage sale and maybe a dozen mask. Our county covid cases continues to drop (about a hundred daily) and I suspect that by the end of the week we will be out of the RED zone.

I need to find an organic product to lower the PH in the garden to make it more acid. I'm leaning toward Sulphur. But first I need to do another soil test. The last test in the Summer the PH was 8 mostly because the irrigation well water filters down through limestone rock here in the Hill Country.

64 and Drizzly City going to 75.

Kyle, great finds on the yard sale and nice you gave the boy his find...great you got to see Don and wife. I'd love to find an old violin.

Too wet yesterday for much other than a nice long hike...lots of yellow leaves on the trail (aspens and tuliptrees/yellow poplars). Came home and saw there was a GT type race live on NBC sports at Virginia International Raceway so watched a bit of it...Corvette won, Lambo 2nd, Lexus 3rd place...they had a good crowd...looked cloudy but not raining so they had a lot of camera shots from high up...do they use a helicopter/plane or have they gone to drones?
