yea, go ask starbucks if they will get rid of their drive thru.

this has nothing to do with anything except when i lived in scottsdale i used to count the 30 something trophy wife's in their convertible Mercedes sitting in the drive thru at Starbucks.

looked like barbie doll$.
Starbucks has the worst coffee on the planet; give me Dunkin...

By 2060, I will be 110 years old,,,
Where are the keys to my 2500HD !!??

Heck, I have 4 grandchildren, and 2 daughters,,
EACH of them care less about the weather than I do,,

Drive everywhere, never walk, that is the norm,,
we have 6 public school age children on the street I live on,,
There are 5 LARGE school busses that transport those kids, twice EVERY day,,
We are at least 10 miles from the nearest school.
Can not ANY of those bus rides be combined?
Is there anything less fuel consuming than five 40 foot school busses?

HOW can that make sense!!??
This is so true...

Local grade school built in 1960 has a small faculty parking lot with about the same parking spaces for visitors...

The last few years the traffic has been horrendous and now worse than ever around the time school let's out... the line of cars going uphill stretch nearly a mile and effectively shutdown the road.

I know a couple of the parents and was told just not safe for kids to walk anywhere these days...

Heck... when I was going to school it was right past the Hells Angels compound and Panthers armed were at street corners and cell phones had not been invented... but now it isn't safe walking past million dollar homes?

A pretty good friend has a few Burger Kings in town. Not the greatest part of town.

He said if he could (franchise agreement prohibits) he’d be 100% drive thru. Fewer employees, significantly less cleaning, no soda refills, less security issues, less utility costs.

Like you said, sales and profits spiked during the lockdown when he was forced to close the inside.

To him, Burger King is a takeout place - not somewhere to dine inside.

long story so i won't bore you but...

i was involved with the convenience store business...briefly.

i met a guy who owned a bunch of them under the brand....stop and go....or something

he used to say ....that's why i picked the name, i want my customers to...stop and GO

We have a small local chain here called “Swiss Farms”. Gaudy lookin little convenience stores with a drive through. Pull up, tell them what you want, they bag it and hand it to you.
Years ago, they looked like they were going away because WAWA was burying them.
Now with Covid, it looks like the smartest idea ever.
Drive through beer distributors looking pretty smart, too.

Maybe with the new small electric cars, you’ll be able to drive your car up & down the store isles……..lol

Stop and Go's used to be prevalent down here up to the 80's. Most were run/owned by Pakistanis that couldn't speak a word of English. Many had one or two gas pumps out front. The gas was about ten cents cheaper than anywhere else but you'd never know what you were getting.

Before Stop & Go, we used to call them Ice Houses. They sold cold drinks, ice, chips and candy. Some had bread and other sundry items. I used to stop by "Stranges Ice House" walking home from elementary school maybe twice a week to get a 5-cent bottle of Coke or a giant Hippo drink. 😎
