China and India have missed a U.N. deadline to submit fresh plans for cutting their greenhouse gas emissions. Actions speak louder than words. China continues to build coal power plants while Chinese President Xi Jinping says his country will stop adding to the global warming problem by 2060.

China, India miss UN deadline to update emissions targets

Oh well. My target to lose 20 pounds was 2017 and I missed that as well.

Targets are fine. Results are what count.

As you say - actions speak louder than words.

I thought we were discussing "never a peep about solutions."?

I gave you a short list of solutions that were being peeped. I didn't say I agreed with the solutions, but they are offering solutions. Whether viable or not is a different discussion. I'm pretty sure I've read/watched countless stories about climate change that mentions most-likely causes, effects, possible solutions, etc. over the years. All mentioned in the same story.
You referred to lifestyle changes, which also require an outlay of cash based on faith; along with government money.
Earlier in the thread however, I suggested more sublte changes such as reducing the time spent idling at red lights; which you came out against.

2060, huh? Wish we could put crap off that long….
According to our more corrupt “leaders”, we only have 11 years to live. Kinda makes 2060 rather unimportant, don’t you think?

Only 11 more years? I thought we already drowned in the rising oceans back in the 80s.

Climate change is crumbs compared to this:
China’s leader told the current President of the United States; “ China will own the United States by 2035.”
China, only weeks ago, threatened Japan with a nuclear 1st strike promising to destroy their entire country. US has 23 military bases in Japan. Makes me wonder how our climate might change after a massive thermo nuclear war?

I checked a map on the INTERNET... I'm gonna be beachfront in 400 years. Yep... I got that going for me... !

Not that long. George Strait has beachfront property in Arizona. From his front porch he can see the sea.

Come on maaannnn!
The Chinese are no competition for us!

That link is VERY frightening.
Scares me more than “climate change”.

According to CBS, climate change helped the Taliban.

So I presume at least one group in the world is pro-climate-change?

I didn't say I was against anything in that conversation regarding reducing idling times and timed lights. It was post #157. I'm pretty sure I agreed with you that moving cars are much more efficient than ones that have to stop and idle.

What I pointed out is that when our town went to timed lights and one-way streets, the town died. When they recently went back to two-way streets and non-timed lights, the town started thriving again because it's pedestrian friendly.

And, I pointed out that no one has run the numbers on how much fuel is wasted, pollution generated, etc. but it has to be around 20% or more.

If anyone thinks China has ANY concerns about AGW, darn I mean climate change then I have a great bridge to sell ya. You can read about that bridge and it's repairs on tbn!

NOAA: The combined land and ocean-surface temperature was 1.67 degrees F (0.93 of a degree C) above the 20th-century average of 60.4 degrees F (15.8 degrees C), making it the hottest July since records began 142 years ago.

It’s official: July was Earth’s hottest month on record | National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
In central Texas this has been one of the coolest summers I can remember. And it was one of the coldest winters on record. My backyard minimum temperature was on February 16 at 0.3˚F and the max was on July 26 at 99.5 ˚F. We will not hit 100˚ this month and probably not this year here, incredibly cool for Texas.

As someone said before
“well then that settles it, if it’s not warm in YOUR area, then theres no global warming”

World population growth is actually slowing. I've read that China's population will drop by 1% over the next 30 years. The only way the US can increase population is through immigration. Japan's population has actually dropped recently and will continue to drop unless they increase immigration.
a short time ago i read that, in japan, they sell more adult diapers than children's.

With all the gloom & doom you hear every day, it’s no wonder no one wants to have kids.
