Happy #38 Ted and Mrs Ted. Your about 42 days ahead of us.
Congrats.
Congrats.
Thanks Ted, I'm still new at this stuff, and learning more about it every day. Yesterday, for example, it didn't look like the solar panels were putting out much power because of the smoke. So I was afraid to use much in terms of household loads for fear of draining the battery bank. So I started reading about how the inverters worked, and going back into the monitoring and control software to find the various things the text was referencing. I learned that the inverters will only draw enough power from the solar panels to meet current load demands, which include not just the household loads, but charging the battery bank. So that got me looking at the charge controller docs, and figuring out what voltages are used for setpoints. Long story short, the inverter wasn't drawing power from the panels because the battery bank was mostly charged, and I wasn't using any electrical equipment. I turned on the A/C and all the garage lights, and right away saw a big slug of electricity coming from the panels. Not enough to completely meet the loads, so the remainder was pulled from the battery. I watched as the voltage in the battery dropped as a result. I still don't have a way to tell how much charge is left in the battery, but at least I know what a full battery looks like, and also when the inverter will stop pulling electricity from the battery because it thinks the charge in it is too low. RTFM, right?RNG, I hope you are able to generate enough power unit the grid comes back on. Hopefully the smoke will clear out.
I can't say I'm really surprised but that's definitely one I never heard of before.Intersting. We picked up Whippers DNA swab kit to be mailed in at a PetsMart 12 years ago and I brought up their web site today. It seems they have found a another way to market their product besides identifying mixed breed dogs. They also do dog poop investigations. They have over 4000 properties that have enlisted their services. They match the un-picked-up poop to the dog so the owner can be fined. Every dog on a property must send in a DNA swab ($50) and then they wait for infractions to be sent in and solve the crime and fine the owners.

Sorry about your loss Ken
New yearling bear here in back yard on front porch Thomas?
Will the shelter place tracking chip in her?According to the rescue agency, she's a Lab/Great Pyrenees mix...that's probably why her coat is a bit shaggy
Both breeds are laid back dogs for the most part...
There's a good chance we'll get another rescue if Margeaux works out OK. Dogs are very social, and better off with another dog in the family.
We have two cats (stepdaughter's, actually)...we'll see how they get along
I doubt it, but haven't asked...Will the shelter place tracking chip in her?
