Rationing of fuel in the 70s was no joke. Long lines odd even days by license plate numbers yuk
Some stations limit how many gallons you could purchase.

Smoke to thick to play with the trimmer, also too hot. Daughter and family just left at 14:15 headed back to Colorado.

Kyle, when I was in high school, most of my friends and girlfriend lived in Levittown. A really neat concept for affordable homes post WW2.
Nice to hear about the great things happening with the family!

75F and clear @ 21:00, just walked in the house ... Woman is fixing some sort of spicy pork chops and rice ... :p

It's a recipe she's done before, just waiting on the rice to finish up at this point.

Fish fed, birdbath scrubbed out and filled.

Couple of BLT's for lunch ... :p

Made some decent progress on creek crossing today:

Need to do some more fill work on the approaches on each side and compact that, then can start on the concrete work on the ends ... hopefully tomorrow. Will probably need more concrete though, only have five bags.

Woman worked on extracting hosta from the invasive shrubs we took out from up at the shop - she's just out of the frame to the right in the picture above. She got another 50+ sets ... and there is still more to go.

We watered the garden after we knocked off on the creek and hosta, it's looking pretty decent considering the chewing it got ... seems to be coming back.

Also watered plants (iris, hemlock, and Stella lilies)

Couple of does came by for evening apple snack, also saw a bunny rabbit over there on the east side ... first time in a long time that I have seen one there.

Probably catch a movie this evening after dinner.

Hope everyone had a great day ... (y)

Ahhhh, concrete, RS. Don’t envy you.

I hope to do concrete leveler by end of week in my caretaker bath. Currently a combination of 4 very different pours over a 15 year period. Transitions not quite smooth enough for my tile work.

Good worship, streaming worked well today. People like the new laptop not making the screen have weird lines.
Went to eat in PA as planned. I got this pork sandwich that was huge, wife got 1 pork chop that filled a plate. We left very full, so didn’t stop at the ice cream place. Got doz yellow corn for $4 there, could get white corn for $3

Got more peaches at orchard.

Got home and my new laptop was delivered on the porch. Been setting it up. Same size screen as old one, but smaller overall and thinner. No internal dvd drive, but I got an external.
Having issues with installing quicken. I have 2016 version because they now went to $50/yr subscription which I won’t pay. It installs, then goes to quicken page, and won’t let me log in.
Too late for support tonight, but I read this version is not supported so I’m not expecting help.
My pictures took half the hard drive, 1TB ssd.
Only brought over docs I use frequently, usually I bring all the old stuff, but this time I’ll wait till I need something.
MS office works.
Bunch of other programs still needed.
Need a new CAD program since my version of autocad is also no longer supported, so they prevent it from working. Won’t buy it again either. I might have to use excel instead of quicken to keep track of costs. Or I keep using quicken on the old laptop.
Always something.

Dennis, too many years ago I “lost” my quicken data. I wasn’t happy. Ever since, I’ve built my own spreadsheets. I currently use Numbers, which is accessible on all my devices, iphone, ipad, laptop. Not sure I could count how many individual spreadsheets within the file, many linked to others and most linked to my summary page. If my financial advisor wants a Financial Statement, not a problem, just go to that Tab and print, Budget not a problem. My one page summary gives me an overview of every account. May not have all the commercial bells and whistles, but very functional. Been so long ago, I forget what Quicken offers, but I can do/see anything I want in my spreadsheets. Every now and again, I’ll look at some app or program but always go back to mine. Not perfect, I modify from time to time, but I take solace knowing I can’t “lose” it. Lot of work to build, but so was getting everything in Quicken. Even better, FREE.

Got some mowing this morning, then it rained. Not a lot, just annoyance.
Went back out later, so I did get a few hours, but a flail just doesn’t like thick, wet grass. Unlike a regular mower, no way to expel the cuttings. But I did get most of that area, so a good day.
