That was my first thought also, yet still wouldn't make the frame fail. If anything the bumper would let go first.
Yes. Father pulled Center right out of bumper pulling heavy trailer loaded sith a j5 bombardier. The trailer rolled back went down over a large steep embankment. He was tickled pink that his brand new battery was dumped on the logging road and not broken. Wasn’t concerned with the j5. He went down, jacked the trailer with the tractor still on it back on its wheels. Having rolled over several times. Backed tractor off, hooked the trailer on the tractor and climbed back up over the hill to the road again. He bolted a large beam across the arse end of the truck afterwards. Never hurt the tractor or the trailer. Bent a galvanized pipe rack that was welded to the roll bars on the j5.

The guy by the loader is on the phone. A young nerdy looking guy. He was likely operating the loader. Hey boss I lowered the loader on the trailer and broke the truck . I think thats what he's saying there.
Maybe thunder thighs by the trailer stepped on the tongue.

Looks like a 16k trailer (based on what appear to be 17.5" tires), if it's loaded tongue heavy (which the bulk of the pile appears to be between the axles and the front of the box) I could see it being 2000-3000# on the tongue.

I also can’t for sure figure out what broke the Ram. If it’s a half ton to much weight but not enough to do that damage. I also wonder if the loader guy pressed down but with the wood side rails would have been tough.

It is the new 1/2 low rider style.

The thing is the rear spring mounts are at the rear of the frame. So it would take a lot of force on the bumper to bend the frame that far forward. But I have seen several photos of newer Ram 1500s like that. The quality really went down hill since they became Fiats. I deliver to a lot of car dealers. All the dealers in my route area are owned by one group. So employees get the same deal on any brand. There are no Chrysler products or Fiats in the employee lot at that dealer. All Fords Chevys and Toyotas. I was told it's because as soon as Fiat took over they resorced all the parts or redesigned them. And they are now not well made. They know the vehicles and won't buy them. So I didn't even look at them when I recently bought a new truck. I only looked at Ford and GM.

That sounds like a better explanation. Down pressure on that loader is way more than that truck could handle.

Let me add that I have damaged a very HD trailer with only some of the down pressure on a Kubota M7040 loader. After doing it --duhh--I could easily see how anything more would have damaged the truck.

Up to 23000 lbs, depending on cofiguration. The truck's around 6500, boat might be two tons? I have no idea what that 5th wheel weighs.
An F350 Supercrew 4x4 Powerstroke will be 8300 pounds empty. A 5th wheel can be 8,000-13,000. Boat and trailer 4,000-5,000. Is possible he was over 23,000, and quite possible under. I don't think that much matters.

What is indisputable is that something was unstable. Did the boat trailer have brakes? How do you balance the brakes on a trailer behind a 5th wheel (which presumably also has brakes)?
