RS those look like Monotropa uniflora.
It is an uncommon wildflower.

Good call ... thanks ... (y)

Will try to preserve them.

You have a phone app you like for identifying plants and such ?

68°F and .77 inches rain. I could say it is looking marginally better outside, more promising for mowing, but in all likelihood I’m just deluding myself.

Off to Hilotown this afternoon. Exchange keg at brewery, HD, meet some friends for an early dinner.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

That is sad. Do you avoid riding your bikes near to and after sunset ?
I very much like to be off the bike for the day before the sun goes down. That doesn't always happen, though, and when it does, I try to find a car to follow at a safe distance. I'll use its headlights to extend the distance I can see, and figure maybe it'll scare the deer away or get nailed by it instead of me. I also decrease my speed so as to have more reaction time, and I'll also change my route to use freeways if possible, the more traffic, the better. But the short answer is yes, I try really hard to not ride at night anymore.

Good Morning!!!! 74F @ 9:45AM. Partly cloudy skies. High near 100F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.
Yesterday's prediction of sunny skies saw the sun present itself as a dark red ball above a thick shroud of smoke. Looks like today will be a repeat. Hazardous air inside and out, even with the filter and furnace fans going. I should probably have an N95 mask on right now, and it's no wonder my nose and eyes are burning.

Went to make a photo of the smoke yesterday and found one of the hummingbird feeders getting swamped by the birds. They prefer the other three feeders to this one for some reason, maybe because this one gets more sun? Not to worry, I had fresh nectar in all four just a few minutes after this was taken.

It was an inside day yesterday, first calling three different water haulers and only getting through to one real person. Left a message on one machine, the other machine was full and not taking any more messages. No word from any of them if they'll move water for me or not. I also learned that you need a license in California to drive a truck that handles potable water, and my neighbor isn't licensed. Maybe I'll get a little more cooperation from him with a little blackmail?

Got some clean up done in the garage, still needs a lot more.

Mid afternoon a message came in on Facebook that a fella wanted to buy the gas hedge trimmer, so we set up a meeting and it's gone now. That leaves just an older Echo string trimmer still for sale. I should go through the rest of my yard tools and clear them out as well, but dealing with flaky buyers isn't my favorite pastime.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

Rare flower, seeds sell for 50 cents each.
No app, when I saw your flowers the first thing I thought was that would be the bouquet a bride ghost would hold. I googled "ghost flower" and it was the first one.

Good Afternoon! 89F (HI98) heading to the mid 90s with lots of sun.
Back from the gardens, had seat time, washed and waxed the tractor and now it sparkles.

Question: How do you guys with plastic JD hoods get the small scratches out?

Have you tried the crab cakes from Phillips Crab House at Costco? They are frozen, but very crabby and good...$24 for 6 in a box. You've probably eaten at Phillips in Baltimore or Ocean City? They used to have a restaurant in Norfolk at Waterside...so good.

Yes on both accounts!!!

68 and raining, finally. Only looking for a high of 75.

RNG, sorry to hear the story of your MC instructor. Sounds like a well planned and managed class you took.

Roy, glad you got a shot, and arm soreness is only issue. The movie 3:10 to Yuma sounds good...I recorded it (the original) a while back on DVR and still haven't watched it...since it is rainy, I may join you.

Mostly, okra is just starting to produce...so far pretty good.

Pop, looks like a nice job on the seal job.

I got some pole sawing done yesterday before roasting coffee, and then watching bees. A beekeeper is supposed to come out this afternoon and look things over. I found they are using a second hole in the trunk as the main one, so worried how it will work out.

They get the Queen the rest will follow. Swarming bees are actually pretty tame, some beekeepers don’t even suit up.

Pop, nice driveway.

A nice day, breakfast was good. Ran into my friends there (our minister) I was expecting too, they eat there about every sat morning. They were going to the game also.
Baseball game was good, friends team winning 8-5. We left in last inning. If they win they play again. Friends son got hit with pitch once, scored a run.
Got pit beef afterwards, lions club fundraiser they do once a month. Try to support them as they sponsor the Boy Scout group my sons were in.
Also stopped at Mennonite house down the road that was having a bake sale.

Stopped to get corn at one of the orchards, they wanted $8 dozen, no thanks. It was $2-3 in pa last week. Will look tomorrow, probably eating up in PA after worship.

No rain here, but overcast with rain on eastern shore, so only 80°.
