After you clean around zerks

I just purchased a "Grease Buster" tool made in Ohio.

I've never had a plugged grease fitting in 30 plus years because I don't use cheap clay based grease. I only use synthetic grease that don't coagulate in the fitting.

I just use an old rag to wipe the zerks clean and never had
any problems of any kind doing this.
I also like the synthetic grease Synthetic wheel bearing grease is great for any bearings

The noodle coming out of that part with the guy using the tool is very indicative of what cheap clay based grease looks like. High quality synthetic grease never does that noodle thing.

I just wipe the top of the zerk with my finger or a rag. Never in 40 years had anything like that kind of problem.

Me neither. Only time I've had trouble greasing (pistol grip grease gun) is when there is a load on the item being greased.....such as the FEL etc. Always wanted a fancy battery operated gun or that lock on gizmo tip.....just never bought one. Too late now at my age.

BTW, I never cared for synthetic grease because it is so hard to clean up afterwards. Been using Valvoline multipurpose for years....on everything.

I never knew the coagulation was a side affect of using clay based grease. Coagulation is a big problem - think PTO shafts (for which I've been using DryLube, not knowing why the grease hardened up). Thanks for input.
