After 40 hours of using my 3510HST I just realized that it's acting like the linked pedal function is engaged all the time. I was driving it out of the shelter at idle rpm's and when I pushed on the pedal the rpms increased. I repeated at higher rpm's and sure enough I had the same result. I checked the linked pedal engagement lever and it is in the off position and the indicator light is not illuminated. I'm guessing it's been like this for the 40 hours I've had it but just never noticed.

I can call my dealer but enjoy fixing things myself. Anyone have a suggestion as to where to begin?

Thanks

At 40hrs, I would call the dealer. The lever actuates a cable (the one directly below it) and getting to it looks to require removing some panels.

I take it you can still get it to PTO RPM with the throttle, but sometimes it still goes above that when the pedal is depressed? If you can see where the cable goes, take a look and make sure something not jammed in the linkage.

That is exactly what happens.

Well I figured out what the problem is, not sure how I'm going to fix it though. The issue lies with the mechanism (under floor right side), this mechanism is actuated by the Linked Pedal hand lever on the dash. Turns out that when moving the hand lever to it's lower position (Linked Pedal disengage) a lever in the under floor mechanism is is getting caught and not allowing it to find the correct position.

The 1st pic shows the mechanism in the engaged position.

The 2nd pic shows the mechanism in the disengaged position.

The 3rd pic shows the lever (on the left) not travelling down far enough to disengage. The offending lever is supposed to fall between the two bars below it (as shown in pic 2) but instead gets caught on top of one of the bars. There's a lot of play at the pivot point of the offending lever so I can see why it can wiggle side to side enough to get caught.

Heh, I was just outside looking at mine to tell you where the action is.

On mine, the 'offending lever' is trapped between the 2 bars of the other one, so can't get stuck on top. Hard to tell in your pic, but if it's on top of the '2 bar' lever, then something misaligned. If not, then you have some binding going on and/or that return spring is weak. Mine make a nice little spring 'thrang' sound when disengaged.

"On mine, the 'offending lever' is trapped between the 2 bars of the other one, so can't get stuck on top."

The lever is only trapped between the 2 bars when in the disengage position. When engaged the lever pivots upwards, at that point it is no longer trapped between the 2 bars.

Different view. See if the spot welds on the rear of the 'offending lever' are intact. There's one on each side of the shaft.

Yup, that's exactly how mine looks. Wiggle that lever side to side, there's so much play that it's easy to see why it doesn't always find it's way "home".

Also that spring is mounted so far offset that it puts a side load on the lever making matters worse.

Give the dealer a call. Should be an easy fix under warranty.

Already fixed it, I welded a small guide tab to the end of the lever so it is now trapped between the 2 bars regardless of position.

Can't believe this isn't a more common occurrence. Maybe it is, but like me, people don't realize it happening.
