Pacific North West - Excessive heat warning issued

It looks like the worst is over. It went from 102 at my house to 57 degrees this morning, with predicted highs in the low 90s for the rest of the week. Fire danger remains high. This is the earliest I ever remember wildfires springing up. No power equipment allowed after 10 AM except agricultural operations. The 4th of July could be really ugly this year.

Moss - the humidity here. Right now at almost 7AM ---- outside, 80F and 35% humidity. As it warms the humidity almost disappears.

Yesterday - 5PM - - 105F and 6% relative humidity.

Agreed. Even in normal years, inconsiderate idiots start a lot of fires on the 4th.

Glad the worst of the heat is over. We were 102F yesterday in Northern NV, but not all that different from normal. 5 or 10 degrees over probably.

Long, long ago I found myself in Houston, Galveston in July. I flew down from Anchorage. I had no idea that there were places on this earth that were so damn hot and humid.

We were supposed to be attending a week long meeting in Houston. The three of us that flew down from Anchorage all agreed - "to H*LL with this meeting".

We spent a week in Galveston. Enjoyed Lone Star beer and the plentiful seafood.

I got a couple small chores done - EARLY this morning. Your graph show temps a tad higher than what I looked at - Avenger.

Whatever - they both show a cooling trend.

We had 107F and 14% humidity around 3-4 PM yesterday.

So 107 only feels like 107? That's still hot.

Thanks. Here it's currently 79 with 75% humidity. Feels like a balmy 82.

95° when I went to bed last night and 70° at 6:30 AM. when I woke up.

At 7 it has dropped to 68° with a cool breeze so I went to the gym for a workout then mowed the front lawns which are mostly in the shade.

Don't know what the forecast is but it's not too bad atm although the suns rays are intense.

I can't find the study now but the number of human caused fires in the US roughly doubles on the 4th.

I'm glad that the idiot on the next ridge who had a big illegal fireworks display every 4th has quit doing it.
