Who makes a good trailer tire?

My 38,500lb Kaufman came with 17.5” Double Coins. No issues yet, but has a 35MPH shuttering. Balanced all the tires, but no change (pardon the pun “double coin”....”change”).......get it? Lol

I bought a 16k dump trailer because I found a good deal on one but the 8k axels have 17.5 tires on them. That alone was worth the upgrade price. They’re 10x better tires than a 16” tire. If I was putting many miles on my other trailers they’d have 17.5s to.

Hercules 901 or 902 14 ply with over 700,000 miles on my trailers. I have tried others but these have held up the best. Transforce for the dually trucks.

I saw Hercules super single mudders on an IH 6x6 dump truck. Nice cleated tread pattern.

I wouldn’t mind super singles on a trailer but I wouldn’t like them on a dump truck.

I’d say just the floaters in the front helped a lot. I’ve seen people running super singles on a garbage truck and that seems like an even worse idea. Garbage trucks and dump trucks cut tires and you’re out twice as much.

It’s a farming thing. You wouldn’t understand.
I see 18 wheeler gasoline tankers going 75 on the highway on Super singles. Ain’t no farmer worried about a single blowout in a field or on the way to a Co Op

It’s not so much the blowout, you’re pretty much parked either way. The duel might limp a little bit but the super singles cost 2-3x what a regular tire cost. Which would you rather pay for when you cut one?

Many of these trucks are equipped with inflation systems now, so that helps.
50% of the new trucks I’m seeing are equipped with them.
I like the flotation, but everything has drawbacks
