Aliens wouldn't have to be smarter or have superior technology to get here, just biology that allows them to live long enough to survive vast distances.

LoL...Just to get here from anywhere even our own solar system would require superior technology...

my question is...if there are so many other worlds out there interested enough to explore us...why ain't it raining rovers...?? (especially if they are no smarter than Earthlings...)

I thought probably. I didn't watch much television for a long time but one day I went out and bought my first ever new TV. Not long after that everything went digital and I'm in a dead zone, so my "new" TV has been setting down in my shed for 15 years or so. I doubt that it still works...

I would just like to live long enough that we detect transmissions of some sort, radio wave or maybe lasers, that contain patterns or data that cannot be created by natural processes.
Like Ellie Arroway said in Contact, "The universe is a pretty big place. If it's just us, seems like an awful waste of space."

Traveling at the speed of light, it would take 100,000 light years to traverse the Milky Way. Dubious any aliens would have that biology.

It would take 100,000 years to en external viewer. those aboard the ship would experience only around 20 years due to time dilation. Of course no spaceship could ever travel at the speed of light, but at a constant acceleration of one G, it would get pretty close.

So the the Senate has called for a release of this "ufo" report coming up here pretty soon. Wonder what it will say? Obama was on today on the news confirming the existence of these aerial phenomena, but he said we don't know what they are or who is operating them or what they want. I suspect the report is going to say about the same thing. I saw a 60 minutes segment where two ex fighter pilots came on and described their encounter back in 2011 I think it was. A total of four trained people if you include their WSO's (backseaters) One was male and the other was female. The female had never come out publicly before. She was the other pilots wingman. She said she didn't particularly like the idea of coming out and saying what they saw (the delta shaped "tic-tac" thing) but felt it was important enough to break her anonymity. The were both very convincing. I liked her personality immediately.

If these things are not alien spacecraft but rather drones or craft from another country that we really have no clue about - that can be even more scary than aliens!!
