Jack Oil gets lots of good reviews on Amazon. Lots.

Plus it’s pretty inexpensive.

Maybe it is worth a try?

When I took my Chinese colleague to the flea market for the first time he loved it! Buying all kinds of tools and stuff. This is like shopping in China he said. When looking over tools and especially Chinese made knock offs, I asked “you must see a lot of these in China?” No he said. “Only name brand tools sold in China. Only in America can you afford cheap tools!” I think about that a lot. He and his wife go every weekend.

They love their culture but appreciate the opportunities and freedom this country inspires. Both US citizens now and more appreciative, patriotic, hard working and give back more than most US born citizens. Building, participating and defending our republic from threats both foreign and domestic.

Just bought some Barr’s stop leak hydraulic oil for a old floor jack and shop press to try. Never seen that product till now.

I bought some jack stop-leak and just put it in. Let's see what happens after a couple of days.

I often use refrigerant oil to wet o-rings for easy installation. Beats soaps (doesn't dry up) and won't gum up when in contact with other oils. IMO it's also the main s__ (used sparingly0 when servicing optical equipment that can ill-afford to have seals or o-rings crack and allow fogging in outdoor use.

btw, I don't get how trying a spruce juice isn't worth a go. If a jack leaks we have to top it up anyway.

Eventually the chinesium jack will stop leaking....as soon as the oil is all gone.

Said before and will say again that I view You Tube as an entertainment medium only. Just because some yahoo posts a YT Video of something, don't make it the 'Holy Grail' of how to do something.

There are a passel of YT video's out there in cyberland that are 100% bogus and based on someone's personal opinion of something that is completely wrong.

Just like product reviews. Just because someone gives a product a 5 star rating, don't mean that product is any good. In fact, it can be pure junk.

I heavily discount product reviews and far as YT, for me it's entertainment and not much more.

There are some informative YT video's out there that are spot on but for the good ones, there are 5 times as many bogus ones.

They don't use oil in them, they use Soy Sauce.... :p Like the Chinese power tools. First thing I do is take the gearboxes apart and flush out the crap they call 'grease' and replace it with real grease. Amazing how much longer they last with real lubricant inside.

Well, Mo, I tried it and liked it. It worked and no more leaks. The jack was pretty low on oil so I think the extra oil added might have helped but whatever the reason, the jack stopped leaking and it'a been over a week. Now I don't have to learn how to put an O ring in a floor jack.
