The Bronco sport is just the Ford Escape with a different body. Everything else is exactly the same. I just ordered a new Superduty (2022 as 2021 orders closed awhile back) and was told not to expect delivery before October.
At least you can order. Last summer when I was shopping it was a choice of buy what was on the lot or walk.

I am with you on the power train. I would much prefer a nonturbo v8. Although my wife has an Expedition with an Eco Boost which to date has been excellent.

I still do not consider any of the Broncos to be full size. The Expedition is full size. The Bronco sport is a station wagon with the word Bronco on the grill. A true disgrace to the Bronco heritage.

Of course, the Bronco Sport conquering hell's gate was impressive until I saw this...

Did you notice the color of the stone, where everybody’s been driving?

Yes, you can hear the tires squealing in about every video of that place, and there are many videos out there.

Agreed...

I thought, by now, there would be a long list of shorted items required for almost anything as complex as a vehicle. Before COVID, there was already a six month wait for some OEM hydraulic components due to labour shortages.

Funny. I've never played or been interested in any home video games in my life.

Heard on the radio in the shop (WJR) that GM is building vehicles but parking them because they are incomplete as in missing electronics and the lots are filling up with vehicles that are built, but not complete. Interesting. Keeps the assembly line workers working but no sales income for GM.

Wonder how long that will go on?

I saw a similar story about Ford.

I dunno, the full size Bronc is pretty big in the 4 door version. Not as big as my wife's burb but big enough.

Like I said, just don't like the engine tranny combo's. It will very rarely go off road anyway. Only off road is the seasonal road to our northern Michigan property. I usually do that with the truck camper in the 350 powerstroke 4x4.

Ai some point in the very near future, the lay off's of production workers will start. Hindsight would have been much better by making the 'chips' here instead of depending on Asia. Oh well.

I bet these bean counters rarely figure shortages like this in their supply chain analysis

Stellantis is doing the same deal here (south of me in North Toledo), Jeeps stacked up like cordwood in every available lot.

One thing I really like about Kubota is how much/many of their assemblies are made in house. Costs more, but supply chains have less interruptions and quality control is in their hands.

Dealers getting new product is way behind. Kubota is suffering from all the disruptions that other industries are like tripling of steel cost for one.

I read today that Ford says it’s production will be 50% lower in Q2 due to chip shortages.

Looks like cars and trucks will be in short supply and at higher prices.

And the beat goes on.

MoKelly
Been waiting for a new Miller welder which is delayed due to the chip shortage and Miller just jacked up their prices a significant amount because of the increase in prices they are paying for what chips they are getting.

In hindsight, kinda makes sense that Apple got back into making their own CPUs again.
