That's good to know, I haven't read any "Spenser" novels in quite some time, and may have to catch up a bit.

Whether it was Parker himself or Atkins...they are always a fast read and some of the dialog can be hilarious...on several occasions reading the series I have actually laughed out load over some of the quips by either Spenser or Hawk...

Sharn Jean swears by this one. Her and her girlfriends even formed a subsidiary called the "Margarita Queens". They used to have a big convention in Jackson Mississippi every year. The Margarita Queens attended several; but I can just imagine a town full of wild *** women parading up and down the street. I'm glad I never attended.

If you are so bent, you might find "Black Like Me" enlightening. It's about a white guy, who chemically turned his skin black, and lived life as a black man in the deep South...in the late 50's if I recall correctly. I read it 50 years ago, and it was an eye opener for me.

I also read that, although it may have been the Reader’s Digest condensed version. Good suggestion though. About all that I remember is that when he sat down at his usual spot to get his shoes shined and the guy noticed the color of the hairs on his arm, he had to remember to shave them every day throughout his experiment.
