Apollo 11 Astronaut Michael Collins Dies
Collins was the crew member who stayed in orbit on the Apollo 11 command module while Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walked on the moon. Later he oversaw building of the National Air and Space Museum.www.npr.org
Those astronauts have more courage in their left arm than me going into space in those tiny ships. I admire them greatly.

Our kids went to Purdue. Neil Armstrong went to Purdue. These T-shirts are quite popular down there. I have one myself.

There's a great statue of Neil Armstrong outside of the Neil Armstrong Hall of Engineering at Purdue. A 'must-do' if you're ever on campus.

I guess we can understand why Michael Collins was referred to as “the forgotten astronaut”.

My dad used to play golf with Buzz. I think. He played with one of the moon men. Big hitter on the moon!

This is a bit belated, but does anyone remember this guy? Ed "Kookie" Byrnes? I didn't know he had passed until recently. Met him in Ft. Smith a few years back; he was selling autographs for $20 a pop.
