Beavers if not so cute could be consider domestic terrorists
using the cable conduit to build there lodge
Some people like them and some hate them, I like them but they do cause havoc with water ways. We have only seen one beaver in our 4 acre pond this year and I had to go down and fix a breach in the dam to keep the water level in the pond up. I think my neighbor (who hates beavers) has eliminated a bunch late last year as they dam up the creeks on his 2500 acre hunting camp and flood the atv trails. Last year my wife told him to "stop shooting her beaver" that started a real good laugh then she realized what she had said and started laughing also.I have a beaver dam and some beavers on the creek near the road on my new property. They have been chewing on a bunch of scrub trees around the creek, expanding their water flow control system. They don't bother me any, I am perfectly happy as a squatter on their real estate. But my neighbors are pestering me to do something about them because they are afraid they are going to move on to their property. To date I have ignored the neighbors request to terminate them, which hasn't helped any with my social standing.
Must be love in the air. I've seen two road kill beavers in the last two weeks!!!
It's partly that. Also this time of year, mothers are kicking last year's offspring out of the den to make room for the new litter. That's true of many animals, not just beaver.Must be love in the air. I've seen two road kill beavers in the last two weeks!!!
The road kill beavers that I see are not small animals. The one I saw last week was 20 pounds or more, and the one before that was twice as big. Last year i saw one that I thought was a hog at first, but then I saw the tail as I drove by it.It's partly that.
