Painting a huge group of people like Evangelical Christians in a negative way with a broad brush like that is beyond ridiculous and shameful.
Evangelical Christians are mostly good people, just like any other religious group.
You are right, broad brushes are dangerous. And other religious groups certainly aren't all perfect or all bad either. But the from what I witness many Evangelical Christians may be nice people amongst their own, but extremely sanctimonious toward someone who doesn't fit their mold. Often I see them practicing the golden rule, but many chose to apply it to the people of their choosing, its not for everyone. A person who can be perfectly nice to you but not to someone else needs some spiritual maintenance.

Yet it’s still a federal offense.
But like many federal offense's it is a federal offense that is not enforced. Much like the many sanctuary cities and states that now exist that fly in the face of federal law, and even a certain son of a prominent politician that can lie on a form 4473 and not sufferer any consequences. Of course I would not recommend you try doing that. :)

Sorry, you line of thinking is wrong. Our justice system has not gone soft at all.

You want old fashion justice, all you need to do is look at the amount of black people lynched from a tree without justice.

What YOU fail to reconize is that freedom for all is just as much as a pain in the butt to apply as justice for all. Seems like this is your world...

I don't follow.

The answer there is to hang the lynch mob from the same tree.

I'm sick of hearing about injustice to black people. My ancestors were here before white or black people, and they got slaughtered and had their land literally stolen. Yet, we don't see native American folks marching in the streets and burning cities do we?

In order to have freedom for all, you must enforce justice for all. If the law carries no consequence and no weight, then your society is doomed.

Yeah someone prominent lied on a form 4473 and nothing happened. And then we need more stringent gun laws?
Why dont we just follow the existing gun laws before we make new ones?

I observe the “news” media recently portraying evangelicals in a negative way because of recent voting patterns. Some don’t like those voting patterns and are trying to destroy them and make it more difficult for them to worship.

Many people didn't want the new federal law of background checks when it was implemented back in '94. Yet it's prevented over 3 million sales to people that were legally prohibited from possessing a gun. About a third of those 3 million were convicted felons. I'd like to see everyone that attempts to purchase illegally be prosecuted. That would be a great start. It doesn't happen enough, if at all.

I'd like to see universal background checks on all firearm sales, both private and public. If I'm selling a gun to someone, I want 2 things:
1. documentation that shows the person is legally permitted to own a firearm.
2. documentation that I no longer own that firearm and they do.

A majority of people in the U.S. support universal background checks for all firearms sales. It's about time that gets implemented.

Yes, someone's gonna point out that criminals won't follow the rules. No kidding.

However, criminals with records or people with restrictions, won't be able to buy guns at gun shows or from private sales where the owner does the due diligence and follows the law. That will at least reduce the number of guns sold directly to people that are prohibited from possessing them, and, it creates a record for that firearm ownership to be traced. If they trace it back to me as the last legal owner, and I don't have documentation of who I sold it to, and I didn't report it stolen in a timely manner, then I'm gonna have to pay the price. It seems like the responsible thing to do, and it's about time to do it. Gun ownership requires great responsibility. So should selling that gun when the time comes. I'm pro-2nd amendment. I've owned guns since I was 14. I don't want to lose that right and I don't want anyone else to lose that right. If something isn't done soon, we're all gonna lose that right. Let's start with background checks.

Point being we are now getting to the point where the lynch mob is held accountable.

Use to feel sorry for the indians until I lived right off a reservation.

"Indians" no doubt got screwed over like the blacks in our country's history, but unlike the blacks, indians get to build casinos on their federally protected land. Inner city blacks have nothing on indian crime and murder vs a indian reservation.

If a man did his time for his crime, why should he not be allowed to carry a firearm when he is a free man?
