Good morning, low 16°F and the high will be 34. Wind N 9 mph. partly sunny. Another energy conservation day.

I got some of the necessary cutting done yesterday on the incinerator, but no oil changes done. I did get ten of the 2.5' x 2.5' totes filled with dirt moved up from the old chicken house to where they live for the summer. We plant in totes because the ground is so crappy and full of clay.

It is a good thing the temps got this low now, I just planted my radish seeds on Sunday. The rows are covered for now. We will see if they actually grow. I'm not holding my breath.

The guys that are installing my furnace will be here on Thursday morning. I will be in Burks Falls collecting my new power washer and getting the details on a new maple tree. Things like the weight of a 12' tree and the size of the root ball. The DIL wants her ashes sprinkled under the tree.
I wonder if her being under the tree will make the sap any sweeter?

I've got all the bags packed for the summer work except for my clothes, that will come the day before I leave. Stuff like the electronics for the truck, maps and atlases and what have you.

An ambulance ride from SR to the hospital in North Bay costs $45.oo (not covered by OHIP) and a taxi ride back to home costs $120.oo, also not covered by OHIP. Too bad the ambulance won't take you home again.

Have a safe day all

Good morning! brrrr. 41˚F only getting to the mid 50s today.
Today is park day and we will be working on the trails, I think some cutting and some mulch spreading. Getting the final touches done before opening day. Our group is getting smaller only about 9 now, we have been working every Wednesday since the covid started. This will be our 55 week. Only 2 had to be canceled because of inclement weather.

Sutton Hoo. Have you ever been there Eric? Saw the movie "The Dig" last night and have been looking up the info on it, very interesting. The movie was based on real events. A very important person got buried under a boat in an England field in about 625 AD. What a treasure find!

55 and sunshine going to 69 and maybe a shower.

No kraut here, but I guess the cole slaw we use is a close second.

Phil, I hope you had a good family get together and the cookies were a hit.

Grass needs mowing, oil needs changing, but the mountains were calling yesterday. Went to Milam Gap and hiked the AT to Hazeltop and on to Laurel Prong to Rapidan/Camp Hoover and up Mill Prong to complete the loop...no leaves out on the trees yet in the high elevation, but thousands of wildflowers. All of the streams were flowing well. Rapidan Camp/Camp Hoover has many historic building where President Hoover used to go to relax in the cool air and fly fish, before there was a National Park there. Very rustic, but I'm sure nice for nearly 100 years ago.

Good Morning!!!! 57F @ 4:30AM. Cloudy with light rain this morning...then becoming sunny by afternoon. High 83F. Winds SW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 30%.
Dark clouds to the north finished off the day yesterday, but no sign of rain in the forecast until just now. The hour by hour list isn't showing any rain, so it's probably a false alarm.

Kubota dealer had a stack of dozen pallets for me yesterday, more than I'd ever carried before. The trip went fine, but a little tricky unloading the bottom pallets because the trailer wheels blocked access. It all worked out with a little jockeying around, though.

Hit the grocery store on the way out of town, and somehow a package of Hebrew Nationals and a six pack of Bud found their way into my cart. Found a small pack of those fluffy buns that collapse in your mouth to paper thin, too. One got sauerkraut, the other pickle relish and English mustard. Mmmm, mmmm!

Awoke to chills and a 100.8F fever this morning, which was predicted by one of the nice ladies at the vaccination center yesterday. Going to take a couple ibuprofen with some cheese and crackers, and go back to sleep.

Happy Hump day, folks!

Good morning, lightly overcast today, with a cool northerly breeze.

On my field check this morning I heard a lamb calling for it's mum. Not an unusual sound at this time of year, except this one was lying on it's side in a pool of blood. As I got closer a pair of ravens flew away. They had done too much damage for any chance of recovery, all I could do was shoot the lamb.

Don, I have not been to Sutton Hoo, "The Dig" was an interesting film. My wife says there is something of Viking origin in our house - me ! :)

Good Morning
It’s 57 at the moment, going up to 65 and then below freezing by morning. Thunderstorms by noon. An interesting day for sure.

I did get the big progressive mower hooked up and put to work yesterday. The ground was just barely dry enough to mow without making any ruts. I took the loader off the tractor to lighten it up just to be safe. Every time I remove the loader, I’m very glad that I sprung for the hydraulic quick connect when I ordered it. It literally takes about a minute to remove the loader. It even makes the connection for the third function, and has a spare set of connections as well.

Trip to Martha’s Vineyard went extremely well, weather was beautiful, nice sight seeing, passing NYC and staying over the Atlantic just south of Long Island with a great view all the way across the sound into Connecticut and Rhode Island. Passed right over Block Island and could see the Vineyard from there. Could also see Nantucket. Had dinner at Mission BBQ on the way home from the airport. Pretty hard to call it work.

This morning I’ll get the Lazer out and do all the trimming along the fence lines and obstacles like the weather station, wind sock and trees. I should be able to get it done well before the weather turns ugly. Then it’s back to shop.

Mornin, all tonight calling for the cold snap. Hope the flowers make it through. Was 70 yesterday and 60 right now going towards the 30's...Now saying 33!
Got second shot of pfizer- seems like I am handling it better than first shot-we'll see, not much sleep

Sodamo-Pool service! hafta be happy on Hawaii with a working pool!
L4N - I am sure the maple tree will grow strong and tall
Eric - sorry about the lamb
PopG - neat connects- sounds like a nice flight, used to do the republic to Nantucket runs with a friend. Only due to weather we usually ended up more in Montauk !

Another co-worker from the past just died. I was friends with both him and the wife years ago (divorced). Nice guy, too bad I lost touch with him except on Linked in.

Stay safe and be well

Backstep to the pickle discussion, I’d be very remiss not to mention my mom’s homemade bread & butter pickles. Of course as a kid I didn’t think they were as good as Grammy’s mustard pickles, but today I’d be over joyed with either.

Or just to see them smile.
