My doggie heard us coming in the door and met me in the utility room and nearly knocked me down. When it came time for her late outdoor visit, she came to me and wouldn’t go with Ellen.

Love

Thanks Don.

I learned something this morning I wanted to pass on.
As someone who drinks a lot of coffee, now at least half decaf, I have always been worried about
dehydration, since I've had problems with that before. My endocrinologist this morning said that was a huge misconception
held by the majority of folks. Yes coffee is a mild diuretic but it is not dehydrating at all. The body maintains
its needed fluid level. He said look it up. And so I did.

Drinking caffeine-containing beverages as part of a normal lifestyle doesn't cause fluid loss in excess of the volume ingested. While caffeinated drinks may have a mild diuretic effect — meaning that they may cause the need to urinate — they don't appear to increase the risk of dehydration.
Caffeine is a mild diuretic, but if you're not drinking as much water as you should, your body will be dehydrated. The caffeine will make that worse. In my case that led to kidney stones, so now I try to drink a half gallon of water a day. So far it's working...

Did your doctor advise you as to how much water you should drink each day, Drew?

Try potassium tablets. That's been my remedy for years.
My potassium levels have always been good. Even in the ER while I was there for dehydration. My blood test showed my magnesium was low and I take a magnesium tablet after severe sweating for leg cramps and it always helps me.

Possible side effects of potassium includes cardiac conduction abnormalities and cardiac arrhythmias. Since I had an inferior wall MI in the past I want to stay clear of anything that could complicate things.

Also if people are on diuretics, they really have to be conscious of which type they take. Some cause you to retain potassium some to loose potassium.

Good morning! 64˚ clear skies heading to the upper 70s until 4pm when the cold front blows in. Tomorrow morning will drop into the 30s, the coldest on April 21 since 1953.

Drew the cruise companies have no plans to start before November from US ports with CDC restrictions. They just want to get you committed and postpone it until they are ready. That's why they do not answer the questions because any answer would be wrong. What I do not understand is that you can still sign up for a cruise before then. ?? I guess wishful thinking or some kind of mental sales strategy on their part.

I have discouraged the mud nest swallows with the tacky bird caulk from building a nest above my front door.

I have 15 beer traps in the garden and sadly wasted too much beer - 3 cans of beer cans for 1 slug and 6 pill bugs so far.

Stop using cheap beer, they have discerning palates.

What kind of tooth bar did you end up with, Phil? Mine came from Everything Attachments.
Hi:
Not sure on the brand. It is a gift from a neighbor for working at his yard. I will see if I can find some info when I head out to the garage later.

With all this talk of hotdogs I guess I need to try the Hebrew Nationals. So far, the Ball Park are the best I've found. Many years ago, when I still played golf (but very poorly), it seemed that every golf course club house had good hotdogs, so we'd get one after 9 holes before starting the back nine; just mustard and pickle relish.

Since we lived for a relatively short time in Baltimore, MD when I was a baby my parents said anytime you ordered a hotdog there, they asked, "With or without kraut?" They said sauerkraut on a hotdog was normal back east in the early '40s, but unheard of in southern Oklahoma. Anyway, I developed a taste for it, and when we have hotdogs at home now I still like to stuff mine with sauerkraut. Of course I buy the smallest can of sauerkraut on the shelves at the grocery store since my wife won't touch the stuff and doesn't even like to smell it.:D:D:D

My wife is same way bird, I like kraut, she doesn’t. Some people put hot dog pieces in their kraut when they cook it.

Caraway does help take the sour out of kraut.
