43°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 70° today. Naturally, with such a nice day today, we have sloppy wet snow in the forecast for tomorrow afternoon, and a low tomorrow night in the upper 20s.
Rained pretty much all day Saturday, so we both had an energy conservation day. I got the rest of the pasture mowed after work Friday evening in anticipation of the rain, so all was good.
Sunday morning we got to it right after breakfast, finishing up the rearranging of the garage. I took down two old wall-mounted cabinets from one corner by the overhead door, and we moved the dog stroller and its pulley lift over there. No more bumping our heads on it when walking past the passenger side of her car. Now, I only have to bump my head on it when I turn the compressor on and off.

I also got out the portable table saw and modified the foot rest I made for her sewing room a few months ago. She wanted it a bit smaller, so I took it apart and cut it down. It also got some new, hardier rubber feet.
While we were admiring the slightly more organized garage, she looked up at the kayaks hanging from the rafters and noted that it was a pretty nice day (64°F and partly cloudy), and maybe we should take the kayaks to a lake. So, we did. We loaded them up and headed to the Old City Reservoir at Silver Lake Park in Highland IL. It's a smaller lake (about 18 acres) adjacent to the larger Silver Lake (about 550 acres). We paddled at a nice relaxed pace around the perimeter of the lake, and spent about an hour-and-a-half out there. Very nice, very peaceful. There were quite a few people fishing from various spots along the shore, but we were the only boats on the water, so we had it all to ourselves. It was a nice way to spend part of the afternoon. Admittedly, though, we're both a little sore this morning.
Drew, that is easily my favorite Corvette body style. That's a great-looking car your brother has.
I need to aerate our front lawn, too, Roy. We have a smaller aerator that we pull behind the rider. No fancy weights here, though, just cinder blocks.
Sorry to hear about your DIL's treatment at that facility, L4N. However, I can't imagine anyone would rather be somewhere other than at home with their family (including the fuzzy butts). I hope she finds some joy in her final days, and I suspect being at home will help that.
