When I move the PTO shift lever to select the PTO speed my diff lock lever also moves. I don't understand how or why these two levers would move together. I'm guessing they should not, but I can not figure out how to fix it.

The PTO shift lever goes into the transmission case on the left side and the diff lock lever goes into the transmission on the right side. Whatever is connecting the two must be inside the transmission housing, I'm thinking.

I remember coming across another post having to do with something similar but if I remember correctly there was some sort of external link between the two levers in that case.

Your pto shift lever is mounted on the end of the differential lock shaft. It is suppose to turn freely on that shaft. Yours is locked up on it. Penetrating oil, light bumps with hammer should free it up. There should be a grease fitting on the pto shift lever, may not have been greased in a while. #s 29 & 56 here.

Thank you. I understand how it works now. I didn't see the relationship to the diff lever yesterday. I didn't realize the pto lever was using the diff lever/rod as its pivot point.

The funny thing is, I greased all the fittings last night including #29. However, I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get any grease into #29. Now it makes sense.

It's all freed up now and properly greased, working as it should. 👍
