37 and a nice pink sky starting the day. Only getting up to 50, and then rain/sleet/snow tonight.

I was wondering about that cardinal in HI as well.

Roy, that's a pretty snow you have, but not the temp.

Got everything ready to cut down what's probably the biggest tree ever for me, including sharpening my chain, then replacing it with a brand new one. It's so nice to use a new chain...like starting a new razor blade. I don't think my resharpening ever gets a chain back to original. Well, drove back into the woods, my wife came along to be the spotter (mainly for calling 911, if needed) but by that time the wind kicked up so strong and gusty, I had to call it off. I did buck two big trees that I felled in February before the ice storm and flood, so a productive trip. One of the trees' rounds are too big to do much more than roll them, so I'm gonna have to tow the splitter to them. I need to do it before the rain hits, but I'm pretty sore this morning, and I brought back a load of those not too big to carry, and need to split those first.

The creek sand I placed on my woods trail on Saturday already had fresh fox and coyote tracks...now had R4 tracks. :)

does a Iphone 12 fit in your pocket like the SE?
I don't want a tablet...
The only reason I see for a 12 is 5G. Otherwise go with a 11. I really like my MAX sized phone. Here is a link to compare iPhone models.
this was very helpful, thanks
I think the 12 Pro is best for me, slightly smaller than Pro Max. About 27 bucks a month at 0 percent interest from Verizon if I trade in my SE. $648
Think that's what I'm going to do. Now to find a retail store that is open.

Good Morning
It’s 23 with a high of 40 forecast. Strong gusty winds over 30kts last night are subsiding, looks like another clear day here.

Yesterday was another uneventful day, which I prefer when traveling. Nice lunch over the Atlantic on the way home, some of the best key lime pie I’ve had in while, nice and tart. Copilot was flying, but offered me the landing at Philly. I’m guessing the the turbulence in the descent and the the strong gusty surface winds rather than generosity influenced his choice. But it was fun regardless of the motivation.

On the way home from the airport, I picked up a friend from the auto repair shop and drove him home. When I finally got home, I just relaxed and did nothing productive. Not sure what’s on the agenda, but I’m sure something will pop up.

One more trip tomorrow, and then it’s back to the life of a retiree, and I can focus on getting vaccinated.

No, barn is in Ohio. Tractors just up the road from me. About 5 hrs in between, unless you fly above the ground.

Dad has bird feeder right in front of a window. Birds put on a show all day. Window too dirty to get good pics, guess cleaning window is on the list for next time. My brother been getting the large ash tree that got taken down. He splits rounds into quarters with wedges to get small enough to lift. This is guy who dad lets hunt. He’s been cutting into rounds. One of his buddies cut the tree down.

My iPhone 11 ran out of memory. Maybe I should upgrade but only a yr old. I always keep phones till they die. . One downside to iPhone, can’t use SD card.

Good morning! 42˚F heading to the mid 80s with lots of sun. Did a count yesterday, lost 20 yard plants (hedges and small trees) during the deep freeze so I guess I should start the digging up and replacing. I was really surprised the crape myrtles in the area all froze.

Good morning, 1°F and the high should be 28. Wind NNE 6 mph. Sunny! We are coming out of the daytime below freezing temps, finally. As much as I like winter, I like to see it gone, too.

Eye appointment for 8:20 tomorrow morning. As long as my eyes stay good, I can hold my Class A license. Class A is like the American CDL. Only difference I know of is that I can haul doubles and tanker without special 'endorsements'.

Another energy conservation day today.

Have a safe day all

Morning all!
10 here going to a very windy 27. Staying in the house as much as possible.
I carry my iphone 11 with case in my rear jeans pocket with no problem.
Lots of snow melted over the warm spell we had but there is still plenty left. Need to go out and pick up more branches but this wind just keeps adding to the mess!
Maybe tomorrow.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

Good Morning. It was 49° here and .. unlike Don's sunshine .. we're way foggy. This will eventually burn off and we'll see about 82° this afternoon. We received about 3/8" of rain yesterday with more forecast for Tuesday/ Wednesday.

I ordered a new ballast for an 8 ft fixture, with 4 x 4ft T8 tubes. This one is in one of our walk-in attics and rarely used but .. the existing one has 120 VAC in and no 277 VAC output. I found one on Amazon so, should get in in the mailbox this afternoon.

My (hopefully correct) compressor piston lip seal should also be in the mail today .. so perhaps we'll have two working air compressors .. before the sun goes down today. I still need to replace the brushes in the second compressor .. at some point.

Hope everyone has a great start to your week.

Prayers to all.

45°F and rain this morning, going up to 57° today. Voice on the radio this morning suggested we may be in for some potentially rough weather this evening (hail and possible tornadoes). Spring is making overtures.

Spent Saturday morning running errands. Got oil changed and tires rotated on my car, dropped off some bill payments, and returned a package to the UPS store. These trips usually have one or more things go awry and take half the day. This time, everything went well and I was back home before 11:00. Wife and I pulled out the kayaks and added top handles on each side, a paddle holder, and an additional bungie cord on the front. The pop rivets that came with the bungies were garbage. All four of them broke off about 1/4" above the top of the rivet, leaving me to cut them flush with the Dremel. Everything else worked as planned.

We got a notice from SiriusXM that there was an issue with the subscription renewal. When I looked, that wasn't supposed to renew for her car until June. When I logged into the account online, I found they still had the other subscription from my old Kia Soul, which was supposed to have been deleted last year (I don't have a satellite radio in the new car). The option to remove that radio didn't work, instead popping up a text box telling me to call their 800 number. Naturally, they were closed Saturday afternoon. I tried the online chat option, and quickly remembered how frustrating that was last time. Instead of just doing what I asked, I spent half an hour telling "Rayhana" over and over that I didn't want any other options or special deals, I just wanted that radio subscription canceled. Towards the end, I got more than a little rude ... at which point we got mysteriously disconnected. I figured I'd just have to call them Monday morning. To my surprise, I got an email later that day confirming the cancellation. They've apparently gone out of their way to make it almost impossible to cancel a subscription to their service.

Sunday was hoist installation day. We decided the best way to store them for now was to hoist them up to the ceiling in the garage. Mounting the pulleys on the horizontal joists would have had the kayaks hanging down about head high for me, which would be entirely too low. So, I built a couple of 2x4 frames higher up on the cross supports, and mounted them up there. Worked like a charm.

After that, we did some serious horizontal surface mining (my Wife enjoyed that phrase) and rediscovered most of the top of the work bench.

She wanted another storage cabinet for the garage, and found out that Lowe's discontinued those Kobalt cabinets. Some calling around found that a store in South St. Louis had a couple still in stock, and she sent the boy over to pick it up. So, I guess I have to assemble that next weekend.

I found a similar problem with Harbor Freight brands last summer, Randy. We bought a couple of their Lynxx tools, and when I went back to get another, they had already been discontinued. I dislike buying into a system that won't be there in a couple of years. Seems to be a regular thing with them lately.

I have never heard the term "Silverside," Alien. Had to look it up.

Had same issues cancelling XM years ago. Never again. I’m at the age my car radio is usually off, or I play tunes from my phone.

Nice job on the hoists!!

I need oil change now.

Also need new tires soon, 90k miles on original tires on the Subaru

I could not find a place where I could trade in my old SE, it was too old and of no value. Good luck.
I used the Verizon online store to purchase mine, and there was an option to do a trade in of my original SE. It was only worth fourteen dollars to them, not even enough to cover the shipping.

33F and "Fair" @ 12:00, headed up to a high of 44F for the day.

The Woman was just giving Squeak a tune-up with the comb ... had to stop because Squeak was getting just a little too excited ... clearing the matts off her belly will be real interesting I'm sure ...

Got the gravel vacuumed on a couple more tanks last night and some PWC's done. More to do on that today, along with more fish photography.

Three Amazon orders out for delivery today, including that one that shipped from Brea, CA via USPS. Seems pretty speedy to me.

Might tackle getting the dustcover on the bottom of the couch replaced today ... should be a pretty quick job.

Nyjer feeder pole got knocked over again so that's on the list as well.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ... (y)
