The main difference is, all topic police are voted off the island and the OP has long since left the building..........

And we are still talking tractors and wood!

I needed to go out to my back woods today, so I went out this morning to start my L3400 yuppy tractor, it was +7* F out, so thanks to modern glow plugs and block heaters, it started right up and within a few seconds was running just fine, and that's on the original 14 year old battery.

It appears my bridge is doing an outstanding job of not letting snow in the brook, should be helpful in drying out faster this summer and protect erosion 100 miles down stream....

We see how you snuck in that 7°F reference!!!

But respectfully Mr. Oldpath, that looks to be more like something built for Mad Max than a yuppy...(meaning that in a good way!)

Not many yuppies would know how to crawl up inside...nor how to operate that fancy looking guillotine mounted on the back! (Yeah, I know it's not a head lopper, but it looks like one in the bridge picture!!!)

For you guys logging or just needing to get traction in the snow ice and frozen woods. I'm looking at tractor chains for the rear tires. I'm not sure where to start I do not need the most aggressive set I just need something that will help the tractor make it up the incline I have to get out of my woods and in the woods moving logs and firewood. Once the path gets frozen over with ice and snow it is difficult to get up. Any suggestions where to start or recommend. I'm also looking for something to not completely destroy the yard to get where I'm going but I do know that the chains are harder on the grass/yard.

I’m probably going to order a set for the front and rear tires on my 5240 because of the ice we have also. Tire chains.com has a good selection and is local to me in southwestern pa. Their website is easy to navigate and shows pricing.

Fir? Those are nice looking logs.

Yes. Fir with a couple Spruce mixed in. I feel like I'm trying to make a silk purse from a sows ear. :)

It's cut them or let them die or blow over in a couple years.
