OK. . . I am not getting the tire trick thingy. Putting a round in a tire, stepping to the side to take another swing. So here is what I'm picturing. Getting a car tire, put it on the ground, putting a log in the middle and having it fall over like it was doing to me when I was splitting that wood. I don't even know what you're talking about when you say, put the "round" in the tire.

OK, so I have been chainsawing wood for a long time, but usually just to move it out of the way. I have never really had a reason to split wood. Fire places in Texas are just for show, all the heat goes up the chimney, so they are kinda worthless. Now that I have a wood stove. . . WOW, now that heats the house.

You got my by quite a few years, the plan is to still be able to split when I'm in my 70's, hence why I'm trying to take care of my body now!

Shoulders have issues from doing push-ups at one point in my life, trying to avoid as many surgeries as possible in the future.

65 here, have had both of my shoulders worked on, hyd for me as well!! Try to keep those shoulders healthy, not fun at all having them worked on!! One full year recovery time on the last one..it was pretty tore up in there!

Age 9 I spent summer on the farm... my Grandfather was a man of few words unlike my Grandmother that made everyone's day...

Anyway... Grandfather was spiltting wood as home and water heated by wood.

I wanted to help and he let me gather and stack inside the wood shed.

Been at it all morning and Grandma said lunch at 11...

He came around the corner and stopped looking at my efforts and we went inside and told grandma I could stack anytime and it was the best woodpile he'd seen... even mentioned it to Mom.

After that it was our project...
